Cash The Fish
A simple fishing game made for FletchFest 2026, with the theme of "Storytelling". Explore the remains of an destroyed rig, and catch fish for the duck's on their ship. They'll reward your efforts with totally legit and measurable cash! But be wary, there are tales that something lurks in these waters...
I didn't get quite as much time as I would have liked, so the game is lacking a bit of polish and I didn't get as much storytelling into it as I originally intended, but I'm very proud of this one. And I did manage to get an ending in it, which feels good.
All assets are made by me, JamesBBarrow. A big thank you to my Twitch community for encouraging me and helping me with the ideas for this game, I appreciate you all <3
Control Scheme:
- Hold Left Click: Move the boat in the direction of the cursor.
- Scroll Down: Lower the fishing line.
- Scroll Up: Raise the fishing line.
(Note: you cannot move your boat when your fishing line is lowered.)
No-spoilers Guide:
- You can only catch fish in areas marked out by teal buoys.
- Lower your fishing line within the fishing areas to attract fish. The "bobber" of the fishing line will turn green when you should raise the fishing line to catch the fish.
- Tip: The lower your fishing line is, the higher the chance of catching a fish.
- Bring the fish you catch back to the ship, and drive your boat into the striped yellow mark on the side of the ship to deposit the fish.
- The more fish you catch, the slower your boat will be.
- There are certain fish that may attract unwanted attention...
- Catch the prize fish, which is displayed on the ship's large billboard, to make the ducks happy.
Health Reminder:
Remember to take regular breaks, maintain good posture, and avoid playing the game for extended periods.
