Lost in thought

.:RL - Memories~:.

It was early evening in Shinjuku, although one would barely be able to tell by the setting sun still shining through the windows of the Honky Tonk cafe. The regulars were ever present - Paul with his newspaper, Natsumi and Rena washing and polishing dishes behind the counter - and of course, the GetBackers were sitting at the bar.

It'd been over a week since the "new" Kazuki arrived on the community, and Ban had extended an invitation (of sorts) for him to come by so that everyone could alert him to what had happened in his absence. Or reappearance.

He flipped the phone shut, grumbling under his breath at the lack of work lately, and barely paid the jingling door any mind. By Rena's greeting and Ginji's sudden tension, it was obvious Akabane had arrived to pick up his daughter, but all Ban did was nod. Rider and Aradia were upstairs for the time being, but Jackal didn't need to know that.

"Ginji. When did Threadspinner say he was coming by?"
This better be good

Calling the GB (+ related) crew for a gathering...

So Threadspinner's back in the comm. Again. And he doesn't seem to remember a damn thing. Again.

We're going to have an intervention of sorts. As in, he's going to come by the Honky Tonk, and we're all going to inform him of just what's gone on. See if that jump-starts his memory or not.

If not - then hell, it's gonna be fun seeing his brain shatter.
SIGH

[The screen's flipped on, and all that shows is white - at least until Ban sits back, right hand clapped firmly over his mouth. His eyes are trained on the lower right-hand corner of the monitor; every few seconds, his hand tenses. It's evident this has gotten to him, from the rumpled and half-buttoned state of his shirt - and lack of undershirt - to the flush on his face. When the clock turns to midnight, he closes his eyes, lowering his hand after thirty seconds only to rake both of his hands through his hair.]

Okay. Yes, I think about her a lot; she's my wife, I love her, and she is damn sexy. Yes, my thoughts can get pretty dirty at times. But damn it, I have never ever come so close to just blurting out fantasies or general 'adult thoughts' like that. Ever.

[A sigh as he sits back with a sigh, staring up at the ceiling.]

I was thisclose--

[He sits up, holding his hand out. His thumb and forefinger are a sliver apart.]

--thisclose to....well, now that's just left up to your imaginations since I have control of my thoughts and speech again. Oh, and to the community at large - since I had to decline work thanks to my 'trashy mouth,' any money I could've made today on jobs? You're paying back with interest.

[And off goes the camera, until further notice.]
Aw c'mon...

[audio; posted at 7 AM; locked from Rider]

[A slight bit of jostling around as he hits RECORD, then sits back; he's up early feeding Aradia, and one can hear her sighing as she drinks from her bottle.]

Okay. I took the early morning feeding to make a quick little post - and I made sure the friggin' locks work this time. So, today's the day - first anniversary and all - and even though I'm still trying not to go over the top, I think I've got a good plan for tonight. Once Rider leaves for work, it'll all start coming together. Comm might have tried to blow my plans for a surprise before, but it's not going to work this time.

Ah...hang on...

[A tap near the laptop as the bottle's set down; seconds later, a rhythmic patting.]

If I remember correctly, she's got a six-hour shift today, so that gives me the rest of the morning to get Ginji off his lazy ass and find some work. The afternoon I'll use to set things up, and then tonight is going to be our time.

[A tiny burp, and he chuckles in surprise.]

Right in my ear - thanks. That's the plan so far. But for now, Aradia's gotta finish her breakfast, then I'll start our own, and the day begins.

Wish me luck.

[And the audio cuts out]
Hmm...

[The screen flickers until an image can be made out. While the screen begins to focus, soft strains of a violin can be heard, occasionally accompanied by the piano, even when the picture finally comes into view - Ban Midou, about four to six years old, surrounded by books even the most learned of college professors would have a difficult time understanding.]

[Though the image remains, sounds can be heard - his voice muttering in German as he reads aloud and marks places in books, flipping pages, and the occasional slurp while he drinks from his mug - as well as the music in the distance.]
Dramatic windy look!

.:RL - Into the Void:.

Figures. It was only a matter of time before the so-called "Gods" started messing around with other peoples' lives again. Probably got bored up there on their perch.

After bringing Aradia to Fuyuki - thankfully Sakura had no problems taking care of the baby - Miss Ladybug halted near the entrance to the looming area known as the Limitless Fortress. Shaking his head irritably, Ban stepped out of the car, slamming the door shut as he lit a fresh cigarette.

The absolute last person he wanted to go into the Limitless Fortress with was Akabane; since they had similar targets though, it only made sense. There were no promises for avoiding fights with his forced partner though - he was still angry at the other man for the stunts he'd pulled over the weekend.

Cigarette between his lips, hands slung in his pockets, Ban stared up at the Fortress.

He knew she was all right - she had to be - but that didn't mean he wasn't concerned about her or the younger girl.
Aw c'mon...

(no subject)

Seems like yesterday she told me, and now...it's just a matter of time.

I'm hesitant to take a job just in case it happens while I'm gone - Ginji could handle work on his own I guess who am I kidding, he'd need Threadspool or Monkey Boy there, but he'd better make damn sure I get my half of the pay.

...I'm not nervous. Like anyone will believe that.
