about writing and fic writers in general
Yesterday, there was a girl (an Arashi fic writer) who posted some kind of ad/question in the Arashi fic communities asking for feedbacks for her fics. I don't really know her, her name just made me curious though, and the fact that she's so brave - well, for me she is, because I can't imagine doing that if that were me. I mean, I've been writing for over 2 years now and I also started with Arashi/OC pairings, and here in LJ, fics like that seldom gets comments, I know, because I have posted a few of what I've written and I only have like ONE regular reader. LJ is the home of yaoi fics, for me it is, because when I started shifting my attention to Ohmiya (and actually started writing that pairing) the number of readers/commenters took an insanely huge leap! And to think that my characterization is bad, my grammar sucks and everything (thanks to my beta reader, I improved quite a bit from before).
Anyway, back to that post I read. I went back to the post itsef and found out that one of those old Arashi fic writer/beta reader (who I really looked up to, her name's rinalin) has commented and gave her pointers. She's really nice and she also pointed the thing I said about Arashi/OCs.
Well as for me, I am probably one of those many readers that seldom checks out a fic most especially if the pairing/summarry/plot isn't striking enough. I'm also a lazy commenter, so yeah.
I think she needs to know that not everyone woud want to read and comment on everything fic writers shares. Although I'd feel really bad if it were to happen to me, but I guess that's just how it is. There are a lot of new and better writers, but the best batch of Arashi writers, at least for me, were those peoe who were posting 2009 and back. Brilliant minded people. Well, I only have a few in mind who are posting the best Ohmiya fics but they rarely post anymore.
Anyway, I think I'm gonna start reading and commenting again. I owe these new writers that as well.
