Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

hey everyone, I’m developing a possible thesis based around the birth and success of My Chemical Romance. I would appreciate if you could reblog this, fill out some answers, and help me develop this project. My inbox is open if there’s anything you want to expand on, or if there’s questions you think should be involved in part two.

Thank you!!

Tim Hortons is doing a Harry Potter collab and like. Whatever. I quit going there years ago because the food and drinks are bad. But it's annoying me off how people keeping boiling down folks boycotting Tim's to "People are mad about things JRK said on Twitter" and "People are mad because they don't like Harry Potter". I heard the former stated as the reason on the radio the other day. Jesus Christ, no. People are mad because any money JKR gets from this promotion will be funneled straight into lobbying against transgender rights and access to healthcare in the UK. Very tangible real world harm. It isn't about the ideological purity of the stupid wizard donuts.

People I think should be in jail* as a chronic Zillow user:

  • People who totally gut the interior of homes when there is no structural or safety reason to do so.
  • People who paint over natural wood window casements.
  • People who paint over any natural wood details, really.
  • People who paint over the panes of transom windows.
  • People who want to “modernize” the interior of historical homes instead of restoring it with historic integrity.
  • Furthermore, anyone who remodeled and “modernized” a historic house from the 70s to early 2000s and now the interior looks extremely dated to the time it was remodeled while the exterior retains its historic charm.
  • Anyone who has covered up a fireplace. I know maintenance can be a pain in the ass, I don’t care. Argue with the wall you have created.
  • Anyone who has greyified or beigeified an interior.
  • People who gutted a house (that would have been livable in its previous state) and then gave up on remodeling and relisted it on the market. Fuck you. Go to hell.
  • People who painted the exterior of Victorian, Queen Anne, Craftsman style houses etc. bland and historically incorrect colors like plain white and grey.
  • If you have ever put in a popcorn ceiling (where there was not a popcorn ceiling before), death penalty, actually.

*This is a hyperbolic turn of phrase, I disagree with the carceral punishment system, especially in the United States. I don’t actually believe in incarcerating people who poorly remodel and flip houses, even if they are contributing to the current housing crisis and destroying architectural and aesthetic value.

I will add to this list when I remember things that piss me off.

I would like to add people who remove a fireplace but don't completely remove the chimney.

white victorians get a pass if!!! if they keep the interesting windows intact and they paint the shutters a bright color put a nice iron fence in there there was this gorgeous purple victorian in my mom's town and they repainted it it's like a gray now but they kept it a moody gray and they updated the foliage so it's thick with trees and flowers and so even if it's modernized in color it keeps the character not stripping it away that's the closest you get though it's thin fucking ice

why do so many freaks go right to “there should be exams or tests before you have kids” when the real solution is better social services, robust infant and child development education that is accessible both financially and schedule/distance accommodating, and resources throughout any stage of a child’s life. genuine question like did you think about any social development before going straight to eugenics
