A lots said about Boomers and how they're the best off financially, and tell the rest of us just to work harder, but nothing is ever mentioned about the Boomers that are shit with money, and now they are approaching the time in life where a lot of their peers are retiring and living a life of luxury, they're unable to retire and have next to nothing saved for their sunset years and end of life care. Whether it be due to poor investments or spending ridiculous amounts of money on completely worthless collections of stuff that their families will just donate once they pass.

And how that burden of nursing homes, carers or home helps, is going to fall to their children: Gen X and Millenials. The same Gen X and Millenials that due to the actions of their parents generation aren't in a high wealth situation, priced out of property markets and unable to work their way up for promotions because the Boomers who should have retired long ago are still clinging onto their jobs as they are unable to retire.

The same Boomers that vote to remove benefits and help from the government because 'people shouldn't rely on handouts' but in turn vote to remove any help they may actually need to make it through retirement in just a couple of years.

Its exhausting.

Insane that the same people who think the welfare bill is too high and should be cut are the ones who make up most of the cost.

Fuck them kids, granny needs her cruise!

Took me years to understand that boredom is not the enemy of writing. It is the raw material. Every good idea i have ever had arrived during a walk with no podcast, a train with no phone, a shower where i just stood there. The moment i fill every silence with content i stop generating anything of my own. I am just processing other people's thoughts instead of having mine. The empty space is where the work comes from. Protecting the empty space is the actual job.
