#25: Where the Library Hides by Isabel Ibañez
"Marry me, instead."
The words ricocheted around the room, finally hitting me square in the chest, where each syllable felt like a smack.
Rating: 3.5/5
Three Sentence Review: I continued my enjoyment of the blend of historic and fantasy elements in this universe. However, my rating was brought down because I got very tired of the miscommunication between Inez and Whit, and I did not enjoy all of the conniving machinations that led to what felt like a new villain around every corner. Still, the setting was gorgeous, the ensemble cast of allies were great, and I would read more set in this world.
Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for January! Featuring Inez and Whit from WHAT THE RIVER KNOWS by Isabel Ibañez!
I noted in my last post that my Patreon members have been a bit kiss-crazy with these requests (not complaining, just noting!) And they were very sneaky with this one, requesting the 'River Rescue' scene! 😂 I remember there being a river rescue scene in WTRK, but when I went back to read it as a refresher to prep for this SAW, I completely forgot there was a 'rescue kiss'. I knew exactly what they were looking for. 😂
The book mentions the water is murkier than this (just as it is today), but Inez is having a moment here, so the sun is shining through! Even if a croc is strolling by!
How did you all like WHERE THE LIBRARY HIDES?? 🙌 I loved it so much, it was one of my favorite reads last year. Isabel completely satisfied the craving I was having during The Mummy/Brenaissance in 2023 with this series. Super excited for you to see the new art in the Fairyloot edition!
Dropping the first BONUS Sketch-a-Wish this year, frequently requested by my lovely Patreon members! Featuring Inez and Whit from WHAT THE RIVER KNOWS by Isabel Ibañez!
Absolutely adore these two and the abrupt twists and turns in their relationship while they were unraveling the mysteries of Egypt. As a fun Easter Egg, I took the passage from this scene, used a phonetic translator, and drew it as hieroglyphics in the back. Starting from 'Do you always kiss your friends like this?' to when the candle goes out.
