This is a moderated community for adults (18+) only. All writing is member-locked, so you must be a member to read any of the sensuous, salacious, stunning fic within.

iyhedonism is now an archive only, a smut-museum, if you will. We are no longer holding contests, but you are free to peruse the perversion and leave feedback on fic as gives you pleasure (and oh yes, it will). Joining the community to read the archive still requires your birthyear or a statement of age publicly visible in your profile and an active LJ.

iyhedonism served as a lively weekly contest community for over two years and 100 prompts. We actively chose to suspend contests despite active and successful participation in June 2010 because we felt the time was right. Out in a blaze of self-chosen glory rather than fading away: we rock hard that way.

Within, you will find every kink and erotic pleasure, from the delights of vanilla to the wildest of fantasies and nightmares. To this end, we share our Warnings Policy as a warning for the uninitiated (and because we generated both praise and poo-pooing because of it):

We have made a very active and conscious choice to keep warnings to a minimum. Our primary reasoning for this is not smugness, machismo, or one-ups(wo)manship. We’ve found that often Warnings are justifications for prejudice, judgment of other people’s fetishes, and a means of discrimination. We recognize the squick factor/issue, and we remind everyone to please include warnings for anything you think might be particularly disturbing; and use summaries, ratings, and author notes to give hints (without spoiling your surprises) at what we might find. Balancing openmindedness and anti-censorship with kindness and respect for individual preferences is a fine act, and we think everyone’s been doing a fabulous job here. Our Warnings policy will no doubt encourage some people not to join Iyhed, or to leave when they stumble onto something disturbing. And we’re fine with that. We cannot be everything to everyone, nor do we wish to try.

Finally, for posteriority, Modly Mods talonsage and salomesensei offer a sincere thanks to every writer and reader of iyhedonism for your stories, your comments, your votes, and your energy. We treasure and wish, as we have always done, that we could grope each and every active member more than virtually. We also thank co-creator rebukes for her ample efforts in establishing the comm and inugrrrl for our layout.
