Five quirks of mine:

1) If I'm left alone in the house and I'm reading, I make stupid noises. No, really stupid noises. Like blowing raspberries to the tune of the Battle Hymn of the Republic really loudly.

2) Whenever I pass roadkill, I bless it, and say a little prayer: "Blessings on you, little (brother/sister*), may you rest in peace and return to us in this world when you are ready."

3) I have a hard time sleeping unless I'm barefoot. It has to be really brutally cold for me to wear socks to bed. Shirts too, for that mater, but I've learned to live with that one.

4) I knock on my skull for luck if there's no real wood around.

5) I don't bite my nails so much as gnaw on my fingers. I have ivory-colored callouses all up and down my left pinky, middle, pointer and thumb; and worse ones on my right middle and thumb, all from biting into my skin on a regular basis. It's an unthinking habit, usually just at the computer. Stupid oral fixations!

If this looks like fun to you, take it away. If it's just another dumb meme, leave it be.

* - if it's not a deer, then masculinity or femininity are based on species. Racoons are male, possums female, etc etc.)

Nicked from all the hell over:

I know very little about some of the people on my Friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you Friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say, "Ah, there's so and so - she likes office supplies and bukakke waffles."

I'd love it if every single person who Friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal(s) if you so desire.

Day was good. I was in the local paper, but the photograph is from behind, and I wasn't wearing my chaps, so they wasted a golden opportunity to be awash in admiring letters to the editor.
