Darry's fight with Ponyboy genuinely means a lot to me and I'm not even kidding.

Darry, expressing his fear about Ponyboy not coming home with anger and ending up lashing out on him. Darry who probably blames himself for the death of 3 people because if he didn't hit Ponyboy none of this would've happened. Darry who probably thinks he should've died in that auto wreck instead because sure his family would've grieved, but they would've been fine eventually.

And then Ponyboy, seeing his brother cry for the first time in months and realizing that Darry doesn't hate him, when he was angry, he was scared.

Darry, who never learned to express his care in a healthy or productive way.

"It's Cherry's fault they died" "It's Darry's fault" "It's Dallas' fault"` "It's Ponyboy's fault"

It's actually the alcohol's fault that Johnny and Dallas died

If Bob wasn't drunk he would have been able to think clearer so then he wouldn't have jumped Pony and Johnny

If Johnny's parents weren't drunk they wouldn't have made Johnny sleep in the lot

If Dallas hadn't been drunk while hitting on Cherry Bob wouldn't have gone after Pony and Johnny ( assuming he was drunk but he probably was)
