Little Dell Latitude 7420 laptop.  Rez is set to 1920x1080.   No separate video card, AFAIK - Iris(R) Xe Graphics.  That help?

Well met, sir!  No worries - we all have day jobs.  If I were to recreate my same party (class and race) in v1, would you be able to modify them to match my part in v2?  Is it something I can do myself?  Only been 40 years since I wrote Ultima character editors.  ;-)

(1 edit)

Just came across this thread - I started a new party in 2.0.1 - only lvl 7 right now and have not gotten down Kawahara yet.  I do see that ship sitting there in Kodan, so I am thinking that the version I am playing will suffer from the same issues noted above.

Any opinions here - should I cut my losses and go back to the 1.x version and start over?

Update - Yeah, am starting over with v1.1 - Yang was AWOL, so am figuring there may be other issues besides that missing scroll I haven’t gotten to yet.  Since it’s still early, I’m going to cut my losses and go to v1.1 - anyway to transfer characters from v2 or just enjoy the replay up to this part?

First off - high praise for creating this fantastic enhancement of Deathlord.  As someone who bought the original game for their Apple IIc back in the day and toiled thru endless frustration, it’s great to revisit this and actually be able to enjoy the challenge.  I was (well, still am) a HUGE Ultima fan (I-V) and so wanted this to be like that, but the unforgiving nature of perma-death, level drain, stolen ships, etc made for a truly masochistic experience.  I forgot where I had stopped playing in the original…

Anyhow, to the latest and greatest version of Relorded (2.0.1?).  It appears to be running well on my laptop, and I have made the adjustments needed for the main UI to display correctly, but neither the combat nor inventory overlays show any content.  I see damage and xp numbers float and fade out during combat, but that’s it.  The inventory screen seems to have some of the inner columns and rows, but no icons or words or data.  Otherwise the game, including combat is functioning great - the other side windows all update - and I already have a nice party of lvl 6 chars.

Any suggestions for how to get these overlays to display as intended?

Thanks again!
