That was an amazing experience. I could not stop spinning because i just did not want that music to stop! At first its tough to get/keep the multiplier to maximum, but once you do and you see the score SHOOT up you feel like a boss.
Loved every bit of it

Thanks for playing, glad to read you liked it!
on the bug : I think the bullet fading out at the end of their lifetime is what's causing this bug. If they're collected while fading, things start getting out of whack. I guess pushing that small visual flair on the last day broke more than it fixed :')
Thanks for your feedback! :D
You uploaded the godot project instead of an exported game. I managed to play it through godot. The game itself doesn't have alot going for it gameplay wise. But visually it looks nice. I like the pixel art you made, the paralax effect you have when switching lanes. The amount of fuel you got was a bit low. It would have been more fun if you got more, let me drive a bit. And then just make the level longer
I wish you didn't have to restart the engine everytime.
Well done!
Thanks for your suggestions and feedback! :)
Many of those were considered during development. When trying it out i felt some of those made the game way too easy. VampSurv is more a ''bullet heaven'' genre, this is more the ''bullet hell'' So i felt like this fit better, as i wasn't trying to make a ''vampire survivors like''. Still i considered these things too as they seemed like fun mechanics!
I like the concept, anything space and wave defense is usually my cup of tea. I can't help but feel that the air you get to spin is way too little. As spinning around is the core of what you do. Having that tied to a (too) short stamina bar, which refills with a button outside of the shooting area. It becomes quickly difficult to rotate your guy to aim at the enemies.
I think adding a way to spin in both directions would make it feel a lot more responsive for the player.
Well done! :)
The visuals and audio in this game are very well made. Im amazed at how polished everything looks and sounds.
The game tries to do many things for the gameplay, maybe a bit too many. Because none of the minigames feel particularly engaging to me. I got lost in the maze a bit, so i restarted trying to get a different one but that didn't work. I did finish the game to see the other minigames.
The evil gameshow theme where you have to do minigames to win back your soul is a great idea and does have potential!
Im super happy to hear it kept you engaged for that long, and that you saw the difficulty as a challenge, not a turn off.
I don't think anyone has ever been this positive about anything I've ever done😂 so thank you very much for all the kind words and feedback. It really puts a smile on our faces.
There's so much more we would have wanted to do for this game, but considering I was still learning how to make a box move at the start of the week we decided not to bite of more than we can chew.
Think upgrade trees, more powerups, more enemies, bossfights and whatever else we can think off. We might just keep updating this game to keep learning and honing our skills.
I completely agree that visually it could be alot better. The artstyle is heavily inspired by the geometry wars games which are just a crazy visual spectacle. But trying to replicate that felt a bit too intimidating. I was already proud of the bullet lighting effect only lighting up the grid layer and the paralax effect over the background. The dash was only added on the last day which I feel made the game alot more fun to play. Which is where my focus has been on. Trying to make it somewhat fun.
Regarding the movement, I didn't expect this many people to have problems with this kind of movement as it is pretty natural to me. We did however consciously decide to keep it this way, to not just make geometry wars but with spinning. Maybe a toggle for players to choose which type of controls they want is a good idea. Although I feel like it would result in 2 different games like that.
I really like the aesthetic you went for in this game. Really nailed that retro look and sound.
The shooting mechanic itself was a bit difficult to use. And the lack of movement made it difficult to avoid damage or get away when enemies gang up on you. With some tweaks this game could be really fun!
So well made and already feels like such a full game for such a short time. Well paced upgrade path.
Just wish there was a bit more to see, do and hear while drilling underground. Some sort of collection sound fx would have been great.
I can see this game becoming great if you keep working on it
Really Good!
Wow loved this one!
Very chill music, almost putting me into a flowstate solving these little puzzles.
Clever take on the theme and the puzzles were nice to play. It felt very satisfying when you find the perfect angle and all rings line up.
Sometimes theres randomly an extremely difficult level to solve, but thats okay cause you can skip freely.
Release this on app stores and i could see myself play a couple minutes everyday
5/5
Really cool game. I like the idea that you can upgrade the bullets in the revolver, very clever mechanic and really fun if you manage to fill it up with all sorts of bullet types. Nice music and visuals, overall really well made!
I gave it a couple good runs but died on the boss every time (got close though). The dash ability helps with survivability but i feel like the enemy projectiles move a bit too fast. Getting enemy projectiles in that sweet spot is difficult to balance but crucial. Something i struggled with as well for our game.
The healthbar blocking a part of the screen made me get hit a couple of times cause i just couldn't see things.
Still very much enjoyed this game
Nice game! I quite liked the concept of having the different gun types randomly at a press of a button.
I did find that sometimes changing weapon type mid run, id be swapped to a much weaker combo, basically ending a good run.
The pixelated look is nice but can maybe be dialed back a smidge. Its bit jarring on fullscreen.
Also creatures tend to creep up to you from behind and suddenly you are dead. Id say visually it can use some improvement in player feedback. So take damage, make me feel it.
The music is chill. and fits the kind of gameplay. SFX wise the bullet shots could have a bit more oomph to it but its not a deal breaker.
I think with more added variation
With a bit more variety in enemies i think this could be really addictive
Very chaotic fast paced platformer, i enjoyed it. The spin jumping mechanic was a bit confusing on how to use. The wallclimb idea when spinning was nice. i just wish it wouldn't lock your moving direction.
The Spelunky like ghost coming after you to chase you at the end while you still try to reach the objective was a fun adition!
Well done!
I thought i was playing a basic platformer until i realized i had to bake a cake :o A cooking platformer, what a fun idea!
I would suggest to be able to switch the different measuring cups with a button press instead of having to walk back. Even though that is a good moment to check the recipe, people with good memory can score a faster time.
Fun game!
Kept trying it a little bit and managed to get a better score :D Difficulty definitely scales up a bit. Its fun how the balls form a bigger threat together and kind of drive you into the corner. Glad i gave it another go. One thing i would suggest is adding a little bit of texture to the floor so you can better tell your own speed.
Thank you for this feedback and your kind words! <3
We agreed with most of these points and went back in to tweak a bunch of sounds and other small things. Along with suggestion from many other playtesters.
I am honestly very happy with the result and hope you give the updated version another try :D
got to 40 points before i realised that i wasn't scoring it just in time everytime. I believe you just can't lose at the moment, the timer runs out and nothing seems to happen.
Besides that i felt the design of the game was pretty nice. Visually and nice sfx. Some eerie ambient music would really sell the vibe.
Well done, i enjoyed this! :)
Awesome art style. Love the pixel art, the 8 bit soundtrack, the animations, and the retro feel. The deflecting ability is very fun if you hit it right, especially against the later enemies that shoot big lines of bullets
Controls are a bit complicated to get the hang off but the gameplay is fun and feels great!
Very well done, loved this one!
I really enjoyed this one! Looks great, sounds great and fits very well, and definitely fun!
Some things I noticed: I felt like sometimes when I use the spin to attack, it didn't work very well, especially if I was alrd holding down two directional keys, and one time I got clipped out of the arena. Maybe something to look into that's being a tiny bit buggy. Also the contract gets cut off at the top/bottom on an ultra wide full screen monitor.
Overall, loved it! Good job!
I enjoyed this quite alot! Smashing through the boxes and collecting the fruits while rushing through the level reminded me of crash bandicoot.
What i enjoyed:
- the music changing based of movement speed was a really nice touch
- launching into the level from you hamster wheel is fun
- fast paced
- nice visuals and sfx
what i would fix:
- tweak the level design a bit. I could only finish the level by building up speed and skipping the 1st platform and jumping to the end.
- recovering when you fall down was kind of difficult, the wheel kept bouncing me back down
- mouse sensitivity seems a bit high
Overall:
Quite enjoyable experience. You really got something fun here! :D
