Okay, now I got all the endings and I completely squealed when I saw who shows up at the end!

I wonder if Matin's sister has to deal with the council, or if she's sufficiently isolated to escape their ire.

Here's my full review:

A mysterious stranger appears in the shop of a nonbinary witch and asks for a curse.  Each time the witch (you) sell the mysterious stranger a curse, the news reports that the princess of the neighboring kingdom was cursed, and the prince attempts to save her.  Sometimes the prince succeeds, other times he fails, but each time the mysterious stranger comes back and asks you for another curse.  While the stranger's identity becomes clear rather quickly, his motivations and his relationship to the princess are harder to discern.

True Love's Curse is a mix of puzzle and visual novel, where you combine words in different permutations to create "curses."  Each curse is followed by a scene describing how the fairytale plays out.  The puzzle aspects are not particularly challenging, and you will eventually solve them by brute force if you keep trying.  It took me less than one hour to get all the endings.

This game is perfectly approachable even if you have never played an npckc game before.  On the other hand, if you have played *A Tavern for Tea*, you may notice the setup for this game feels similar.  The stories play out very differently, though, so this game does not feel like a rehash.

If you've played A Hero and a Garden before and like the characters, then you are in for a real treat when you play this one.

All in all, this game is a short yet sweet queer fairytale with fun for both new and returning npckc fans.  It's not a sprawling epic or a super long complicated puzzle, but it is exactly as long as it needs to be for the story.

Oh my gods that is so cute!

It's been decades since I played the game this is based on, so I needed several tries to beat the last level.  I'm glad I got to the end though.

I have not yet gotten all the endings but it's a really cute story!

I played the "After Jam Fix" version and it was quite fun, but has a number of bugs (or at least I think they are bugs?)  I can't climb ladders, at least not all the way, which makes some areas impossible or harder to access.  After getting 35 bananas, I unlocked big mode, and the pop-up instructions say I also unlocked dashing...but I tried pressing the button combination to dash and it doesn't work.

I really like that this is a tetris-like game where you don't need to move super fast!

I really liked this one!  The combination of simple, clearly explained rules with outside-the-box thinking made it fun.

Okay, I laughed at the end.  I look forward to future developments!

I am tearing up reading this.  It so clearly explains something that is rarely talked about in public.

I first became aware of your work from Yellow Hearts and later Never Heroes.  I stopped following what you were doing after NH ended, until seeing your name in that interview on Assigned yesterday.  Now I'm going to read all the stuff you have on Itch, and I reserved Hello Sunshine from the library!

Okay, I can move now.  The game works for a couple seconds before the camera suddenly zooms way in and starts jittering so I can't see anything.  I'm playing in Firefox 147.

EDIT: It works in Chromium.

How do you move?

This game is the most wholesome thing I have ever read.

This is very cute as always.

Played the demo levels and really enjoyed it.  I can't afford to buy it now so take my upvote.

Two years later, this is still really fun.  I love the Phantom's lines in the post-credits scene.  I'm looking forward to the full game.

My favorite was

a) 100 balls of anything except factorial vs 1 factorial ball

b) The preset with the most hp for each block.

Wow I love it!  Wishlisted on Steam.

I think I need a hint.  According to Gemopedia I have 8 out of 9 rocks.  I am missing the one on the bottom right.  May I have a hint as to where to find it?

EDIT: Never mind I found it.

Thanks!

I completed the main story, but I'm confused as to how to start the prologue?

Despite the author's claim to the contrary, the game *is* fun. I like the combination of the typical visual novel-style gameplay with managing your stats.

The story is nonetheless very depressing and you should only play if you're okay playing a story where the main character suffers a lot.

I have a question.

At the start of a play session, roll 3d6 to determine Luna’s Favour. If the highest number is a 6, the moon is full. Everyone gains (or regains) one Fury. If any of the dice show a 1, it is instead a new moon. Everyone gains (or regains) one Focus.

Can it be both a full moon and a new moon at the same time?

EDIT: I saw the author's answer on the fediverse.  For posterity in case anymany else has the same question,

Yeah, just say there's an artificial robot moon or something suitably cyberpunk-y

That was so sad and sweet!

That was fun!  I look forward to the updated version.

That was really fun!  I'm a life-long Sokoban player and I always appreciate seeing new variants.

Okay.  I'll keep an eye out for when and if you do.

Thanks for making this!

Are you planning to sell PDFs of the main TWD story?

I remember a rumor that Donkey Kong appeared as a hidden boss in either Super Mario RPG, the first Paper Mario, or maybe M&L: Superstar Saga.  Also, hoaxes about Mr. Resetti's House.

After online guides became widespread, I did end up catching a Mew in Pokemon Blue, following a guide from GameFAQs.  It's not under the truck, though.

If I play a random game I find on Itch, it's likely harder to find videos/guides where someone else already found all the secrets.  The tradeoff being that with fewer players, there are fewer entertaining rumors about obscure games.

BTW, did you know that in Tomato Clinic, it's totally possible to unlock the ability to play as a werewolf?  My Aunt who works at NPCKC said so.  Vampires don't accept blood donations from werewolves due to centuries of conflict between their species.

Looks good!

Congratulations!  I look forward to playing it.

I love it, that was very silly.

Take all the time you need!

That was wonderful and sweet!

Just finished playing it on Android and I teared up at the final scene!

The only point of disappointment is that we never really got a confirmation about Diya being demi.

I just finished playing it on Google Play, and I love it!

The only thing I'm disappointed about is that we didn't really get a confirmation about Diya being demi.

Just finished it, and wow, I was not expecting that twist reveal.

I seriously got excited when Diya hinted she might be demi, but then I was dissapointed it wasn't explored any further in the game.  Overall I really enjoyed it and I look forward to the sequel (and I hope the sequel gives us confirmation in-game that Diya is demi.)

I'm glad to see this in a downloadable form!

One thing I am confused about:  In the first page of Grimm & Snowy's entry, it says Grimm is Clementine's first healed shard.

On the other hand, from what I can tell, the Missing Moments"La Mano Pasante" and "Sono" indicate that Grimm isn't the first shard Clementine healed, just the first one to make her sprout horns:

On the first page of "La Mano Pasante," we see cats (that could be healed shards) huddled around Clem and Magpie. Also, on "Sono," page 3, Goose suggests shards aren't attacking them because they are afraid of "cats," suggesting the cats that have been following them are purified shards.

Are there plans to clarify this discrepancy?
