Interesting game. At this time, the Spells overshadow the critters. Why spend 6.6 mana on a critter that deals 5 damage every 2 seconds and die after a few hits when you can instead cast missiles that deals 25 damage every second? It feels like the critters are supposed to be the focus of the game since they have a dedicated biolab, but the spells are so much better!
Actually, I played a bit more and noticed that I was missing a drop from the smiley level, the early Fang. Critters are useless before this drop, there should be a guaranteed Fang dropped by the tutorial rather than a Body.
Even after getting that Fang the critters only felt good for cleaning up levels. To gather rare resources in newly unlocked levels the Spells are much better since they can't die to Block retaliation and enemies.
