Maybe you could give it more visibility with a button to show a pop up with the leaderboard any time and changing the labelling of the button to sth. like "walk away with points". Perhaps also for the start have 3-5 made up scores by "serious" contestant's pre-filled? I think a loading indicator after you input your name and it's sending/ fetching the score would be nice. Or, like they did it in [this](https://tnagasato.itch.io/penguin-swing-jump) game for this jam, remove the friction for entering a name entirely by giving each player a fun (or serious?) random name.

Thanks for your insights! I am glad you appreciate my over the top high score :D
With what you answered regarding the "2x on nothing" and "15p/unused spin", I must have misgauged that the numbers were not accumulating. I didn't do any exact maths, just didn't behave/ snowball like I expected it too :)
For the 2x on nothing, could it at least be that only the base score keeps doubling, not your total score of base score plus the additional 50s?
Yeah, indicators/ counters on screen would resolve this for sure, though I also find it appealing that you have to keep track of past decisions in your head.
Thank you for playing and highlighting so clearly what could be improved :)
I am not sure if you figured out that you can throw the spinner faster by scrolling faster, or still find the max speed to be too slow (or you would get rid of the slower speeds) . In any case, the main mechanic of throwing by using the scroll wheel should have been explained better.
I really like the idea of different throw speeds, where each has a different strength depending on the situation (e.g. close up and ranged target), but it definitely could use some more polish. I opted for a return speed similar to the throw speed as I thought it was more realistic. An instant return without any explanation or return speed faster than the throw felt off to me. Maybe a kind of lasso mechanic with visual indication where the player can decide when to quickly reel the spinner back in could work.
Thank you so much for playing our game and giving such in detail feedback! :)
I am very happy to hear you liked the pixel art and our fidget spinner idea.
It was our very first game jam and we frankly went for a way bigger scope than we probably should have, so we didn't get to play-test a lot. Was still a blast to make the game though :)
Will definitely try to make something smaller next time to have more time to work on the difficulty and overall enjoyability.
Thanks again!
Thanks for checking out the game :) - and thanks for the feedback!
Volume controls and maybe a fade-in and -out effect for the music I sadly didn't manage to get done in time. The boom box can be destroyed with the golden fidget spinner item which is in a chest in the basement, the key for which is dropped by the enemy in the spire on the top right of the map. We had a lot of ideas for fun progressions but only managed to throw this together. So you at least have a little more to do than just destroying the boom box right away :)
Nice job! You did well incorporating the spinning theme as well as the seriousness. I found that the gravity concept paired with the high-speed levels made for fun gameplay :)
Some more levels would've been cool. Perhaps then the faster spinning with space mechanic could've seen some use as at least I didn't really have the need to use it.
Great job! Got totally addicted and went for 1 mio points xD
You really nailed the different perks you can buy in the shop. I wonder how you came up with them - that kind of number and stats balancing, to me, seems deceptively hard to get right.
It's also nice that the area the spin lands on is proper random (or at least appears to be). I've played games in this jam where it seemed like they were calculating the outcome on some condition and then matched the animation of the wheel to it. I think it's frustrating if the wheel doesn't stop where it is supposed to.
I agree that the music is a total bop! I followed the creator and will make sure to tip them if I might use their music too :)
The 1-less-spin-to-shop perk is definitely the best perk in the game. It's good that there's no OP health perk. Only thing that could be improved is the wording for the "2x on nothing" and "15 per spin if walkout", as these actually were one-time boolean flags instead of accumulating?
I love this game, definitely one of my top pick for this jam! :)) Great job on the art and gameplay!
I'm also a sucker for lofi music :D
Only thing I can think of to improve are that the interactions are sometimes a bit janky, but not in a way where it breaks the game or anything :)
I wonder if it could be fun or how it would feel if you could continuously click or hold down the mouse button to spin the chair faster and faster
