Yo, crazy how much content you guys were able to put into this one. So many different tops and abilities! Very polished and well done!
Maybe my favorite legally distinct battle top game I've played this jam. The polish here is impressive. Every hit feels really satisfying with the sfx and particle effects you added. I really like the build variety here and the controls were very intuitive. I think would prefer to be able to see the enemy health bar. I think that would better help people understand how spin, weight, and damage interact with each other. Also I would've liked a little write up on each challenger before you face them. Maybe giving a clue on how to counter their build
I really liked the music and sound effects for this one. The handling of the beyblade felt nice and once you get better parts you can start to do some fancy moves. I also like how you reated the modular sprite for the beyblade, very nice seeing the parts change color. I was planning on making some upgrades to my beyblade game after the jam and this is great inspiration!
I would have liked some more decisionmaking on the upgrades. I just took whatever had the highest rarity and beat the game in one go. But at the end of the day this is a one week project, what you did is already awesome. Another quick thing would be to understand better damage numbers, who is taking what damage and how much life does your enemy have. I had some trouble with that on my game I need to figure out how to do so I've been thinking about it. Still, being able to track the enemy health is very fun for 1v1 duels!
It's interesting to see a beyblade game with this level of polish go on a direction so different than mine. Definetly saving this one as reference for upgrading my beyblade game!
From one legally distinct battle top fighter dev to another, respect. Upgrade system was sick.
The upgrade system blew my mind! loved all the different builds that were possible, made me think of Mario Kart. That being said once I found a good build it made the game a piece of cake and I blew through the rest of the levels with almost no resistance.
I'm not really sure how to loose, maybe I just had a lot of luck :D But it was fun nonetheless ! Good job, simple idea but very nicely executed, solid entry !
Early RNG can definitely help carry you through some good runs, especially an early megarare. Just think of it as you being very deserving of a win!
This looks so professional. I thought the gameplay would get repetitive through rounds, but it didn't since upgrading my
beybattle top meant I had to adjust my strategy. Although adding different arena layouts or even hazards can spice it up. Great game!Definitely ideas I would play with if I continue with this idea. There's so much potential but i had to scope it down for the week haha. Thanks!
I saw multiple beyblade-like games so far but holy, your's is so well polished, that's a crime. Good Music/SFX, Animations on point and the player feedback is really nice, easy one of my top 3 games so far.
i LOVE this pixelart. The game is so enjoyable and filled with juice. The numbers when dealing damage, the way each asset builds the final prop in the selection menu, it has a lot of detail and care invested and that radiates on top of the cool gameplay. A flawless masterpiece.
thank you for the high praise!
The visuals were incredible - quite genuinely, they are on level with what indie devs spend months trying to make!! The music also really fitted the vibes :D
My only real feedback is that some enemy health bars would have been nice. Not that I'd expect it from a game made in a week, but some sort of showdown animation would also have been really cool, if you made like a sprite for the opponent. Also I disliked that one loss sent you right to the beginning, but fair enough if that's the challenge levle you were targetting.
But genuinely, such a peak game!!
I considered enemy health bars but from testing it helped keep the fight engaging by never being quite sure how the fight is going until you see them start to slow down, then you know you can go in for the kill. I did want to make the win or loss have a little slowmo but it was hard to pull off well in the time given. Thanks for the kind words!
Great game nothing to complain other than I wish there was more of it.
Feels like the old games I grew up playing. It has alot of juice and feels very cohesive. I had an absolute blast!
A very polished experience! The visuals, audio were very well done and it had a solid juice factor as well. Very satisfying to knock some legally distinct tops around. I wish there was a meter to see the spin of you opponent though. Overall great little game!
This was really fun! Really polished presentation - visuals, and music were great. Fun to play moment to moment once I got the hang of it (i.e. lost the opening fight 5 times).
Couple minor gripes - I would have loved if the new items I received from the last fight were highlighted somehow on the equip screen. I have a squirrel brain so it was sometimes hard to remember what I had just picked up. Also maybe some indication of overall progress as you rise through the ranks.
So glad you commented on my game or I would never have found this gem.
Not only did I share it immediately with someone else, but I just loved the entire experience. I felt giddy as I started unlocking the megarare items. Died the first time but won the second time, and it felt like a perfect experience to me. Wish I could give you extra stars for visuals. Truly. They were spunky and bright and cohesive and lively and just mmmm, so good.
Fantastic game jam entry!
Awesome game, surprising easy to control and the level up mechanic makes me engage more with the game the visuals and sound are really nice too! Nothing to complain here, good job! <3
Fantastic game! Fun to play, steady ramp up in challenge, very tightly designed, and looks and sounds great to boot.
Awesome game, really well polished, a lot of upgrade variety for a jam game and it's really awesome that the upgrades you get also impact the look of the top, made me want to go for style over ability...
I think hit / collision SFX would've also made this game a lot more awesome than it already is! had to imagine the sounds in my head for the full experience.
Either way really great game!
It does have hit sfx, try refreshing the page. Godot is handling audio weirdly on the first load
WWW, really fun. I also made a beyblade game
This game is really polished
Tried to max out weight for the fun
