Wow, this did not feel like a jam game, in the most positive sense. It's amazing how you - even as a team - managed to create this beatiful piece of art in just 9 days. It looks and plays like an actual game people pay money for already.
Some notes that I took:
- Nice set of settings, it was useful to check and configure some stuff before playing.
- The map felt huge, sometimes I felt a bit lost due to the many paths I could take, but it added to the wonder of exploration. There was one part in the watery cave where you had to jump between the platform and the rocks where I fell in the water and the platform did not seem to return, but maybe I just didn't wait enough.
- All the mechanics (e.g. jumping, climing, pushing-pulling) seemed to work flawlessly with the animations. There were some parts where I had to jump and climb, but the rocks were very dark and I wasn't sure where I'm landing.
- Music blended nicely in the background.
- I liked how the camera panned elsewhere for some parts. Sometimes it was somewhat weird and distracting, but still had a good flow. My favourite part was the puzzle in one of the shrines where I had to push the boxes in a top-down view. It was a bit confusing, because you still had to use W and S to push and pull the box, even though you moved in a different direction in that view, but I still had fun with it.
Overall one of the best of the jam and definitely worth working on later.
