Really good game, I really like how you implement the limitation, it was a great experience! Some people already said it but the UI could use a little work

hey!! just played this and the swap mechanic between the warrior and the mage feels very fluid. i really liked how the duality was baked into the gameplay loop — having to go melee to build up mana for the mage makes the decision to switch feel very intentional and rewarding!!

that god mode moment when you reach full power is super satisfying, it gives that exact "big" power trip feeling that the horde mode needs. i noticed the developer mentioned the ui in other comments and i agree that a bit more juice there would make the scores pop even more, but for a 48h project the core loop is already very addicting.

the way the difficulty scales kept me on my toes the whole time. great job on the execution and on balancing the two forms!!

congrats on the entry!!

Great use of the prerequisite. It took me a moment to understand how and when to use both forms to my advantage, but it was really enjoyable

Just when I thought the game could use an explosive so I could get the satisfaction of killing that giant swarm of enemies at once, I experienced the power up and it gave me exactly what I was looking for lol :D. I really enjoyed this. Perhaps adding an enemy that shoots a projectile would make it even more challenging and exciting. Good job!

I agree the enemy variety is a little lacking and some ranged units or AOE style units would make it more varied and interesting.

I tried making each enemy have a different animation, walk speed, health, and damage values hoping that would give the variety but it gets lost in the chaos, I would have been better off spending time making more varied attack patterns then trying to tweak the same pattern to feel different.

Thanks for the CC and thanks for playing!

the use of prerequisite was incorporated well, I love the idea of switching between a short range character and a long range character. Well done

Lovely! I'm a sucker for games like these, especially with multipliers, so this one is right up my alley. I'm not entirely sure how the theme of big plays into it apart from getting a big score or a big horde, which is cool too! I love how the prerequisite has been handled though, having to swap between the two to make sure you get power but also are able to kill enemies is interesting.

The juice is very nicely done too, and the powerup is insanely satisfying! The UI could use from extra flair, especially the end screen, to give the scores that bit of extra umpf. Having the background be a bit less repetitive could be nice too. Overall though, incredibly solid and super satisfying wave shooter :D

Thanks for the CC.

I agree the UI is lacking, that is an area I need to look into improving on. I tend to leave it until the end and run out of time to do anything about it. I should focus more on it next jam...

Thanks for playing!
