Description
I like to think this would fit nicely in a metroidvania game, only to end in a wicked bullet hell!
One Summer Night a year, a strange phenomena appears in the dark sky. It looks to be a Nebula!
But all things that seem may not be true.
1. Goodbye, Sun (Main Theme)
Dusk fades, the sun descends as another day is plunged into darkness. A strange thing in the night sky has appeared, unknowingly bringing sadness & joy.
2. Gazing Up (Relaxing Theme)
You are a traveller, an astronomer gazing upon the clear, summer & warm skies, when something you realize is amiss, you send out on a journey to the highest of mountains to gather your intel.
3. Moonlit Fields (Travelling Theme)
You've reached your destination, where cosmic beauty, chaos & corruption now resides. It's your duty to free those of their corruption, find out the source and sadly put those that are too late out of their misery.
4. STARWEAVER (Boss Theme)
What was once thought to be a beautiful nebula, has reigned down onto earth, showing it's true form, the Starweaver.
A cosmic entity that transcends time, feasting on any souls, life, humans and stars alike.
You as an astronomer can wield the Starweaver's own corruption against itself. How? Your big ass forehead dummy, now go make sure this One Summer Night isn't your last.
Message from the artist
My laptop caught fire 3 days before the jam started.... Soo I've been using an extremely old laptop to do this. You could imagine the sound crunch having more than 10 VST's at a time haha.
Art I done in 40 minutes, new speedrun record for me xD
Starweaver I done in 3 hours, really pushed to get that last song in while I had the motivation
Hope you enjoy!

This is awesome.
Right away I like it, the slightly detuned synth in the background, adding so much flavor and color.
The mix is also fantastic, and the dynamics are good - tight but not mechanical.
Great work!
Yo Xurai I'm always excited to hear what you come up with and didn't disappoint here once again! cool cover art, cool idea, and cool OST! For me gazing up and moonlit fields felt by far the best two in terms of composition, instrumentation and production quality, they're such bangers. I would say though that the dynamic range in terms of simply volume on the ost is a bit wide, like in track 1 it gets super loud in the 2nd half and track 4 is just mega loud comparatively to the other tracks and stays loud the whole way. Though ik u said track 4 was rushed and you were working on an old laptop, so it's crazy impressive still what you've made here - awesome!
Thanks tons for listening and the detailed feedback. Yeah I gotta put more toward the mixing, something I'm excited to learn more about.
ooooooooh yeah those melodies are hitting those emotional beats yup. I love this Touhou style and you get it down so well with how catchy and energetic these melodies are. So many highlights but honestly one that sticks out for me is when that acoustic guitar comes in for Goodbye, Sun. Actually scratch that make it every time the acoustic guitar came in it just works SO well everywhere. This might be a personal preference but I do really like drums and the drums here are awesome but they felt a liiiiiiittle bit quiet I think? Not in STARWEAVER (banger) though, the drums feel very present here. This submission is so good, fantastic work!!!
Thanks so much for listening. Quite interesting I'm seeing a lot of people mention touhou as I've never paid much attention to those soundtracks haha.
I'll take your advice for when I eventually revise the soundtrack!
easily one of my favorite OSTs in this jam so far. i am also someone who cannot help but make touhou adjacent-music so this is super up my alley lol; showing this to all my friends who keep making fun of me for this. no feedback, just keep making music please. thanks for sharing :)
That's such high praise, thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed. Since u mention u suffer the same fate as me, I can't help but need to listen to your soundtrack now xD
Wow, what a ride! The music starts off so calmly, with a meditative, beautiful atmosphere, making me think, "Wow, this is so nice and peaceful...", then things starts to pick up, gathering momentum, until it just bursts into the awesome STARWEAVER in an explosion of energy and fun. I couldn't help but laugh a little when STARWEAVER started up because I did not expect it at all, but it somehow works so well with the rest of the OST! I think your whole OST has such a nice, beautiful texture, complemented by fun, catchy melodies, with Moonlit Fields having my favorite balance between those two aspects. And yeah, STARWEAVER is just pure bullet hell bliss. Thanks so much for sharing, this was a blast to listen to!
The cover art is beautiful!
And also the music is beautiful!
That first track was so good the way it evolved and grew over time! and in just under 2 minutes too!
Moonlit fields was SO GOOD TOO!
Huge fan of this whole OST! Your going into the Jofes Highlights on the discord for this set of entries 100%
I typed this before I got to STARWEAVER. Huge fan of this one too! It might be a bit too loud comparatively but I love its speed!
Thanks so much for listening!
the name STARWEAVER IS FIRE and how fire THE GUITAR PART ISSS??? with the STRINGS???? such a banger !! and the story is wildly amazing. nice submission this was.
I pulled that name outta my ass and I'm definitely happy with it 😂 Thanks for listening!
pretty good soundtrack! got scared by STARWEAVER when it started playing though
Just as planned hehehe 😂 thanks for listening!
this ost is so touhou pilled i love it sm... i think moonlit fields is def one of my favs just from the chord prog alone
awesome work!!!!
❤️ tyty
i always look forward to your submissions on every jam, you always make bangers! It's impressive that you did this on an old computer honestly, i would have probably ragequit if that happened to me ngl 😭
i think my favorite track is moonlit fields, it's a banger, really liked the choice of synths for that one, also this goes for Goodbye, Sun as well but i especially like the acoustic guitars on the sides and how they drive the rhythm of the song if that makes sense (idk if that's the right term for it) , also I love the way Moonlit Fields is mixed though i feel like it's just a LITTLE BIT quieter than the other tracks but that's honestly not a big issue, STARWEAVER is also a banger too i always love intense drums like that! the bass is also super good i love it! of course as the other comment said maybe some things could be mixed differently (if it helps at all personally i'd turn the crash down a little but dont take my word for it as im not very good at mixing) but honestly it's really good for having been made in just 3 hours, plus im guessing you hadai similar situation to mine bc i myself rushed my last track a bit since i was getting tired 😭
also to be VERY honest i wasn't able to understand the full story that well but probably because i have the worst reading comprehension of all time xD sorry about that, but still i feel like every individual track fits their descriptions very well! and STARWEAVER sounds like a reallyh cool song for a final boss bullet hell section against a super powerful cosmic entity!!
as a side note the cover art is SO pretty i wish i could make stuff like that in 40 minutes! amazing stuff as always and hope to see you again next jam :D
Haha thanks for listening and your detailed insight!
I'm super into stories that start with a regular day only to end with you becoming God or some crazy stuff happens 😂 Not your reading comprehension, just my weird ass storytelling.
STARWEAVER is so good!! I actually bopped my head while listening to it, I didn't expect it to go so hard immediately right in the beginning. Kind of reminds me of the energy of "World's End Valentine" from OMORI with how high-octane it is throughout. Overall, great submission! I love how the beat sounds in all of the songs.
Goodbye, Sun gave me some major stank face. I loved it start to finish, and it even gave off some pretty heavy Linkin Park influence! Great work!
Nice variety, energy and build-up. "Moonlit Fields" has anime-opening energy. Just as I typed that, I hear that same anime-opening style modulation at 1:30 ahahahaha. "STARWEAVER" gives me Star Ocean 2 vibes and is another solid track. Tons of hype and feel-good bops in this OST, excellent work!
Haha I wasn't even intending to go with that melody for moonlit fields, I played it mostly on pads by accident and just found it super catchy. Thanks for listening!
All the songs really tickle my brain in a good way AND DAMN THE BOSSFIGHT THEME IS SO TOUHOU CODED IT IS AWESOME!!!
IDK why but it seems like my brain has subconsciously rewired to making touhou boss music, but I'm certainly not complaining xD
Thanks for listening!
I love the colors of your artcover, somehow I see the same colors in the vibes of your music 💖
Moonlit fields is a hitt. Great work!
Xurai back with another classic💵This was awesome! The cover art looks fantastic, beautiful colors and gorgeous setting! I especially loved the bell sound in gazing up and the first theme! One thing I might add for Nebula 2 is a change in the mix in the drums in STARWEAVER (I know how frustrating mixing intense drums like that can be) Great submission!
Thanks for listening and your feedback❤️
Yeah mixing an intense drumkit into my track is always a challenge haha. I'll likely revise each track so hopefully I can tidy that up!
Love how suddenly "Goodbye, Sun" intensifies, that gave me the shivers.
