wow, this game is really cool! the layers of depth in this game is really impressive! at first i wasn't too sure on how the rules worked, even after reading the tutorial, but once you get into the game and play a few rounds, things started to click! unfortunately, i think my one braincell wasn't capable at arriving to the win condition, my influence across the board was dominating for a good part of the game, but then my opponent started gradually coming back and taking over tile after tile on my board, so i assume i just lost at that point xd. i guess its the banes of expanding wide instead of having a condensely strong tile. i think with better visualizations on how military and land/resource affects the board, and maybe like an indicator that shows the projected outcome of a contested tile and the amount of influence the winning player will have that turn (kind of like slay the spire's intent indicators), then it would be a bit readable and also allow players to more easily plan ahead, since just having raw calculations on the screen is a bit hard for a casual player to understand. but yeah the visuals are extremely stunning, love the aesthetic that you guys went for here! the music and sound design of the game also really adds to the atmosphere and feel of the game, its very nice! overall i had a ton of fun trying to beat the ai, unfortunately they got my number so im raising the white flag xd, congrats on the submission!

I don't "get-it" easy enough, as a player i need to be guided through learning the game. I feel dumped into complex game that I dont know the rules/results-outcomes that seem opaque. Yes, saw the tutorial - that should be a guided level 1 of players first play through -> add skip later

Yeah we now as it is our first game we didn't account for the tutorial time at first and were quite rushed to make it at the end. We plan to make a better version of it after the Jam review is finished. Thank for playing still and I hope you had an enjoyable time anyway ^^.

Wow this game's complex, took me a while to understand but other than that it's amazing, from the art to the audio and general feel, it's really good, I'm amazed you made all this in a week.

Developer(+1)

TYSM it took a lot of sleep time away to make it ^^'. The lack of a good tutorial doesn't help on the complexity but I am glad you liked it anyway :)

Game's Sound Designer here

Thank you for the kind words! First time making music and sound designing for a game, very glad you liked it !

I loved the concept.

The game could have used a tutorial.

I like that there’s a couch co-op option!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your comment ! Yes we did not have time to make a good tutorial in the end.

Funnily enought 3 hours before the deadline we had no AI to play against because we lacked time to make it so couch co-op was almost the default option not an addition xD ! Glad we could make it in time still.

Alright as per every comment. Play by play time. I will take notes as I play.

  • Game says to play tutorial. O- music stopped looping. Ok doesn't matter. THe buttons have juice and look greek. I trust the greek buttons and the tutorial.
  • My dyslexic ass cannot read this font. I will just rawdog the game.
  • I clicked buttons and the thing spun. It seems to do things. I have no idea what is happening but it has good sounds and visuals
  • I placed symbols on the wheel. Idk if this is good. but it's pretty and it feels like gamba soooo good stuff.
  • Ok if I could read the font I feel I would enjoy this more. I just have no idea what is going on from context clues. Still will rate this game as fun, but as a tip: Always have your font be very readable, and if not, have an alternative font!

Good stuff! Just a shame I couldn't figure it out.

Developer(+1)

Hi, game sound designer here ! Indeed I forgot to make the menu music loop, sorry!

Also sorry the font was unreadable, when making the tutorial we thought it was fun and failed to take into account some people could genuinely not read it. If we were to update it with a readable font, would you consider trying the game again ?

Thank you for the kind words and have a good day!

Absolutely! I love strategy games. I have over a thousand hours in multiple paradox games so I for sure would come back!

Developer

We'll do that and update it soon then :)

Great one :) It took me a while to understand it to be honest - but really enjoyed the visual style, audio is on point and the theme is well matched. One idea for improvement: some quiet, unobtrusive background music would be nice.

Developer

Hi! Game's musician here! Do you feel the menu music would work well for the gameplay, or a new music altogether ?

Submitted(+1)

Oh, my bad :D I didn't hear the background music - my speakers were too quiet. All good :)

Wow this is incredible, I'm amazed , how did you even come up with this? One of the coolest ideas ive seen so far.

Developer(+1)

Tysm for your comment it makes the invested time worth it ^^. Took us some time to get the idea and it lacks a lot of explanation because of time but I'm glad you could like it ^^.

Your game was really great too keep up the work !!
