Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
Space Arena is a fast paced, 3D arena shooter set in a cosmic gladiator stadium in space. You are fighting enemy robots while entire planets are watching you from above. Players will be able to shoot using left mouse click and aim with mouse. Player can also rotate through weapons.
Players can jump and double jump to various platforms and obstacles.
The player can walk around the low gravity environment. Players can freely move in any direction.
Enemies will spawn in waves, the top left will show you when enemies are spawning and how many are left.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
The game is being live streamed by a drone that follows the player. You can see the stream on the jumbotron in the middle of the arena. The game also takes place in space with literal worlds watching from the outside.

Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?
No

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Pay attention to the detail of the surrounding world and the camera work. Also the stadium and "world is watching theme". Note due to playing in browser there is some lag and the lighting had to be changed significantly due to Godot engines settings.

Hey! I just played this, I enjoyed the color scheme for sure, first thing that hit me once the game started I thought, "Man, I like the look here"

I would love to have more movement options and a little bit of feedback on hits or firing. The Audio needed a little balancing so I don't know if there is a hit sound and I missed out on what sounded like some fun dialog.

I also ran into some issues with the menu not fitting right on my screen, minor issue for me, it still worked, it was just left aligned and it looked funky. If a stylistic choice, all you.

I love the crowd meter, I didn't feel like I got much of a reward for filling it up.

Overall, I would totally keep playing if this continued to evolve. I think this was a solid submission for the Jam. Very cool.

Developer

Thank you for the in depth feedback, it’s really appreciated. I’m glad you liked the color scheme, I spent a while trying to set that up. A few people also noted the audio needed a rework and that should really be an easy fix on my end. I had some plans to improve the crowd meter but didn’t have time to get around to it unfortunately. I’m glad you enjoyed the game and may have plans to continue to improve upon it.

Playability:
Combat, Pickups, and Enemies all work correctly and feel good overall. The voice-over audio is a bit low when compared to the music but that's not that big of a deal.

Theme:
The theme is a bit weak here as it just seems to be the audience watching you survive the waves of enemies. Would love to see this more directly tied in to the narrative and gameplay.

Cleverness:
Simple but overall effective gameplay. Nice work!

Artistic Style:
Great design of models and powerups overall. Doing this on a short timeline is not easy and you've knocked it out of the park here.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! It’s really appreciated, spent a lot of time on this to get it out in 2 weeks.

Solid fun. I always enjoy 3d games in  jams as most go for 2d so it's nice to see variation. I also enjoyed listening to the announcer, some of their lines were funny.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it. And I really wanted to go for a 3D game, I’m glad you enjoyed the announcer too that was all my voice

Solid entry, the shotgun and mid machine gun were solid but the tommy gun felt extremely weak. I liked the sound and the voice over (but come on man say it with your chest! I got a full crowd meter! I wanna hear a WWE style over the top reading!)
I didn't personally have any bad audio with the footsteps but maybe you've removed them since other commented?

Some extra feedback would be some bigger visual indicator of hitting the enemy. I think the audio there is fine, but like a red flash or something given the arcade-y feel of the game might give it a bit more impact.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I did have some trouble trying to balance the tommy gun, it was the third weapon I added. I'm glad you liked the voice over. It was my first time doing something like that and thank you again for the feedback.

Overall mechanics of this game are incredibly fun, I like the low gravity and moving platforms. The commentary is also hilarious! The sound effect (e.g. footsteps) are quite jarring however. I would like to see more pick ups and I didn't understand what the lightning bolt at the top is meant to do. With further development I think this will be a very fun game!

Developer

Thank you for playing and the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the commentary, and I can definitely turn down the footstep volume, that was something I overlooked while testing. The lightning bolt was actually a permanent speed boost for the run, but maybe it was too low to notice. I think adding more pickups will add to the game.

i did enjoy this game, it has fun graphics, and the voice was a nice touch, some bugs I did notice though: The footsteps sounds was playing every frame, feet go brrrrrrrrrrrr. And when shooting at the robots, if there was health or armor in the way, I'd be shooting that instead as it has a pretty large hitbox. I think bullets should probably go through those.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you for the feedback on the steps, that is something I will be fixing. I agree with the feedback from shooting, a few others had similar comments. Thank you for the feedback and for playing!

Very decent with good fundamentals! Music is too quiet; its need a PUMP

Thank you for the feedback!

Pretty neat. Got pretty slow around wave 4 and 5, nearly freezing, possibly due to the number of entities. Rapid blinking and stuttering got to me around then, had to stop.

I actually just uploaded a downloadable version which should run much better. I have not uploaded a 3D to itch before and had run into quite a few issues with the performance and how the game was originally made. Thank you fro the feedback
