How does your game fit the theme?
gloop is an infinite looping cellular automata factory game where you split and combine gloops to a beat. This game relies on infinite loops and emergent combinations to solve puzzles.

Beautifully presented, and a unique concept! Excellent audio too.
Nice entry!
Oh that was really made. The music+movement works sooooo well
This really started to break my brain in a fun way! The timing of it all is crazy but satisfying to have it work out. I felt like I needed to guess a bit more than I'd like. Being able to more easily visualize a path without having to fully run the simulation would be nice.
I appreciate the feedback! I think having a path projection while you're setting the track is a fantastic suggestion, thank you so much. I think this would increase a lot of the intentionality of the easy part which is first loop planning, since ideally I'd like the fun of these puzzles to come from the emergent interactions with multi-loop puzzles.
Amazing art! Making the movements sync with the music made it feel so satisfying.
The idea for the game is really really cool. There's a lot for potential for a great puzzle game there. I struggled to understand the rules at first, and I read that you were going for a no text tutorial, so it's understandable. Game jams are the perfect context to try those things out and correct what went not-so-good afterwards.
Other than that, a very solid entry for the jam! Congratulations!
Couldn't get past maybe level 4 or 5, where the gloops are coming up from two paths.
Otherwise, great music , pleasant visuals, good job
What a great concept!! The learn-by-doing tutorials were designed well and I feel like I got the hang of it pretty quickly. The music adds so much juice too; if this were a full game I could easily see each input on the track playing a chord or something as it gets executed.
Playing chords was the original idea, but I wasn't happy enough with the prototypes I had so I just made them play kicks. Thanks for playing!
I appreciate the concept in this game but it was very confusing and took me a while to figure out since there are no instructions. Once I did figure it out I liked the concept but it was difficult to get into because of some inconsistencies with the rules. For example the numbers on the sequence did not sync with the spaces on the board as I imagined they would. Audio and visuals were pretty fun, there's definitely the bones of a fun puzzle game here.
I appreciate your detailed feedback. I was going for a "no text tutorial" with the flashing squares, but that seems to be a hit or miss for some people so I created some gifs in the description.
The sequence positioning seems to be an interesting phenomenon. The original mechanics were that spawning gloops would make progress on the first beat, but this was confusing to my sole playtester that didn't develop the game, so I changed it to her mental model thinking that she was less biased. But literally every other player afterwards has complained about that haha. I agree overall though that it needs more consistency. Thanks again for playing
I really like the audio and rythm elements of the game. But I couldn't understand some of the puzzles while I was solving them. Great use of the loop theme!
Love it! well polished and the music is on point. A bit hard to get maybe at start but once you get into it it's get going.
I loved this game! Fun concept and great execution! Love the design and music. Great work!
The music worked really and the aesthetic was really good. Fun concept! I beat the game but honestly felt like I lucked out most of the time. The jump from the tutorial levels to the first real level felt like a big leap since none of the tutorial levels really used the looping feature.
I think it has the potential for a lot more interesting puzzles. Amazing work!
The music is amazing!!! I love the little drum lead-in to the track, works wonderfully. The gameplay is also really cool, somewhat remeniscent of the game of life and also broke my brain a bit by level 4 hahaha. Great job!!
great concept, reminds me a lot of sam hogan's cell machine and could definitely be expanded into a proper game in the future. great work! (the gifs really helped with understanding the mechanics, thanks for adding those)
I love the idea , it really a nice concept
Great game! I love that you made the gloop split and bounce off walls, it adds a lot of complexity in a really good way. The puzzle difficulty feels just right, and the art and music are awesome. Good job!
Love the concept!
I like the classic house beat and the fact you use a small breakbeat to sync the start.
music it so satisfying! wish there were more levels, felt like i was just starting to wrap my head around what was going on haha. great work!
Audio and visuals were amazing!! Blob behavior felt a little esoteric at times, but I figured it out (mostly, I think) through trial and error. Could see this turning into a full game with a bangin' sound track like Tetris effect!
I'm absolutely impressed by the visuals, audio and how it works together, you did an amazing job there! Even though, adding some in-game tutorial could be nice, lack of information about blobs moving in the vector got me stuck for a moment
