You gotta remember that even if that's fine for a lot of people, those offers are specifically designed to be traps, not rewards. Credit card companies do not like "deadbeats", people who pay off their card in full and on time, because they make the vast majority of their money off of interest and fees. They want to increase your limit so that you get careless and spend more than you can actually afford.

It is extremely easy to fall into credit card debt, especially if you get comfortable. Getting a higher limit can help improve your credit score but going into debt because of that limit will tank it anyway, so just be careful.

the thing about capitalism is that at a certain point a product reaches its maximum audience and cant really be improved (at least not while remaining profitable), but capitalism requires a product provide infinite growth, and at that point the only way to increase profits is to raise prices, cut corners, and in the case of services start adding advertisements. this is just how the system works.

The actual economic term for this parasitic behavior is "Rent Seeking", as in "charging you rent for things that didn't used to cost money just because we can."

It’s ALSO worth saying that police dogs serve a significant role in worsening police brutality. A dog trained to attack a human will maim them. A cop looses a police dog on someone, and that person is expected to peacefully cooperate while a dog is trying to tear their limbs off. It is very easy for those massive wounds to get infected. It is an absurd amount of violence. And beyond the initial attack, the fact that a “poor sweet innocent doggo” did this is used to excuse that brutality in court. Especially if the victim, panicking in the moment, lashed out at the dog. As this website has demonstrated many times, majority-white juries have more sympathies for injured dogs than the people of color who are most often victims of police brutality. So they’re not just systemic animal abuse, they’re also a tool for increased police brutality and to excuse

i think a lot of (white) people just really don't realize how fucking terrifying and dangerous these animals are and while i understand the animal welfare angle, i think any discussion about police dogs should be focused first and foremost on their role as living weapons

yes, there are some aninal welfare concerns but even if the dogs were treated like royalty they would still need to be abolished

The irony of nonblack people specifically calling Black Americans “Amerikkkans” is baffling to me. Hey I need you to look at me. Who do you think is the predominant target and victim to the kkk. Non-binary people can't use no pronouns because that's too hard to use.
