The Poetry Review, published quarterly by The Poetry Society, is home to the world’s best contemporary poetry and writing about poetry. Since first publication in 1912, it has featured new poems, essays and reviews by internationally renowned and emerging poets, both Nobel Prize winners and newcomers. Famous contributors include T.S. Eliot, Allen Ginsberg, Derek Walcott, Philip Larkin, Seamus Heaney, Carol Ann Duffy, Jackie Kay and Alice Oswald.

The Summer 2026 issue of The Poetry Review (116:2) features new poetry from Amy Acre, Vasiliki Albedo, Rachael Boast, Jemma Borg, Sean Borodale, Clementine Ewokolo Burnley, Stephanie Burt, Paul Fenn, Sarah Fletcher, Ishion Hutchinson, Tim Liardet, Fran Lock, Claudia Roquette-Pinto (translated by Stefan Tobler), Greta Stoddart, Chloe Stopa-Hunt and Evan Wang among others.

John Clegg contributes a brief essay in memory of J.H. Prynne and the ‘Poets Reading Poets’ are Caroline Bird on James Tate, Shazea Quraishi on Sappho and Nasser Hussain on T. Liem. Elsewhere Major Jackson and Nick Makoha share a discussion on improvisation.
