Avengers Endgame: A Lack of Closure at the End of the Line by Rotem Rusak for Bam Smack Pow

YEAH I STILL THINK ABOUT THIS.

Even taking off my shipping goggles, this was one of the most hollow, unsatisfying endings for a character arc. All the growth and change completely undone with no good explanation. Especially when paired with how Peggy in the same universe was able to move on and live her life.

Steve who has gone to endless lengths to save his best friend, just drops him off and peaces out. No one else (even Sam, who’s been along for this ride with varying degrees of willingness) is even mildly concerned. Bucky is hung out to dry. Sam is ditched only slightly more gently, but seems somehow ok with this?

I could rant for ages how they absolutely fumbled their relationship and Bucky’s character as a whole in Endgame. It’s truly a master class in how to not wrap things up.

my MCU soapbox I am forcibly removed (while foaming at the mouth)

omega Sam is very precious to me, omega Sam who’s very different of other omegas, who hates to be defined by his second gender, who’s a bit insecure about his size compare to normal alphas, who uses cheap scent blockers because the others are unnecessary expensive, whose gentle demeanour and kindness got categorise into the stereotype, who never get to built a nest given the life he lived. Omega Sam who after mated with his alpha brother finally let himself be cared for, climb up on the smaller man’s laps and let the smaller man hold him, who had a small nest in the impala with Dean’s clothes bundled on the passenger seat, who let out contented little noise when Dean kisses him on the scent gland, loving him for who he is.
