As I documented in excruciating detail, I've got lots of ideas for Supernatural vids. So of course my WMM has to go completely uncooperative. If I pull a clip into the storyboard, it won't play so I can't check if it matches the audio, etc. Any suggestions on how to fix WMM (I've tried to delete this copy and download a new one) or on good vid programs? Please? I've got a few deadlines fast approaching that I'd really like to meet. Thanks!

Date: 2006-03-31 08:45 pm (UTC)I use Stoik video converter (free program) to convert all my eps to a more usable format (avi, mpeg4 codec V2 for video and PCM for audio). And that works just great.
Also, WMM sucks, you'd be much better off with a more advanced program (because it can REALLY make a huge difference!). I use Adobe Premiere (which is kinda brain-breaky at first, but once you get used to it it's awesome). It's LUDICROUSLY expensive (like $900!!!)
but you can find it to download illegally on any number of file sharing networks ;-). But I've heard that Pinnacle studio is a really good program too (and it's apparently pretty cheap if you're going the legal route).no subject

Date: 2006-04-03 03:41 pm (UTC)Anyway, to answer your question, when you want to save it go to File>export timeline>movie. Probably the best way to do it would be to export it as an avi file using an uncompressed codec (like Huffy). It'll result in an absolutely HUGE file, then use Stoik (or you can probably even use WMM) to convert it to a smaller wmv. If you want specifics on the settings to use and such let me know and I can give you more detailed info once I'm on my home PC.
