knocking on my door so loud

This is not the happy "WHEE SPRING BREAK" post you are looking for.

So today the Iowa Supreme Court legalized gay marriage. (Or they struck down a gay marriage ban, I should really say--but I'll get to that later.)

Naturally (AS ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT ME CAN PROBABLY GUESS) I'm happy about this. And surprised--I really didn't see it coming. And I'm really glad this day came, and for all the couples who are finally getting something they should have had all along.

But that's not really what I wanted to talk about.

PPS: "gay marriage Mecca"? Seriously? What are these people smoking?

Edited to include a link to some Iowa Supreme Court decisions, since we ARE talking about them here and they have a pretty awesome civil rights record. Also read their decision (or the summary thereof) on this case if you have time, guys, they said everything I did here only...better. XD

SUP.

MY SCHOOL DISTRICT BANNED LIVEJOURNAL. DDDDD: 'Tis sad, that's what it is. WHAT WILL I DO DURING PROGRAMMING NOW. DDDD:

(They also banned Blogspot, which makes me think they basically went through and indiscriminately blocked all the blogging services. I also expect at least part of the block to be lifted--plenty of teachers host academic blogs on Blogspot--but no guarantees about the Livejournal portion of it. Which sucks, yes.)

ANYWAY. I've got a...plant script to write for Bio tonight and five chapters of notes for AP World on Tuesday. Which means I will be scarce today and banning myself from the computer tomorrow. Seriously, I am not going to touch the computer. So don't do anything interesting, guys. >:

Also that AU!Legendia RP idea will be banished from my brain right about now, thankyouverymuch.

(no subject)

'Sup. Welcome to the twenty-sixth take of Topped Raped by School.

Five pages of notes and five discussion questions. And the test is Wednesday. And I have a Lit essay to do on top of that. My week is shaping up to be fun, yes. (Reminder to myself to reserve part of the weekend for Pride and Prejudice reading.) Hopefully I'll be able to get to Legendia replays and such this weekend, but I don't know any more D:

Other things:
- I am not, I repeat, not commenting to the tiny!Jay post at talesofdressing, damnit.
- How did I not realize "Field Below" was a perfect song for "Our Utopia"? I don't understand it. I ttly paid attention to the lyrics, too. Perhaps my brain isn't working properly.
- This is a terrible time to be having "Our Utopia" inspiration.
- I hate my AP Biology class with a burning passion. Seriously (I hate that word now too). At least AP World has cool people in it, as opposed to people that give you raging headaches.
- WHEN IS SPRING BREAK.
- I had to explain fanficrants to Andrew today. "YOU USED A COMMA SPLICE. DIE IN A FIRE." And now one more person in the world is of the opinion that I am a pyro grammar nazi. >:
- Also why do we need American Lit credit for graduation again? And WHY WILL YOU NOT APPROVE THE STANDALONE AP-USH CLASS, YOU STUPID SCHOOL, I WANT TO TAKE MY AP AMERICAN LIT. D: ('AP American Lit' makes me lol, though. The concept itself is just so asinine.)
- ...I should elaborate. Currently, my school blocks AP US History and American Lit together as one year-long class known as American Studies. This means that if one wants to take APUSH, you have to take American Lit. There is no other option. Before, this wasn't a problem, since due to the Am Lit graduation requirement, Honors American Lit was the best class one could take. This year, however, we have a new class, AP American Lit, which is a version of AP Lit that fulfills the Am Lit requirement. Which is great for overachievers like myself! Only problem being that you can't take that and APUSH, at least not at the moment, anyway. And APUSH is what everyone takes, so. Grr.

ETA: I have this sudden urge for Jay/Moses modern AU antics. Damnit, 404, you aren't supposed to betray me like this! D:
