May. 9th, 2026 20:49There is the sunset from Palanga, May the 1st (returning to it for a microbiology conference 29 years later after taking part in the biology olympiad).
This blog is 20 years old today. It has outlived itself long ago. Most of the time I was trying to explain the historical rift between my culture and that of some friends, in order to be able to build a bridge over it. Later, I saw that nothing of that had prevented the attempt 'to do it again', contrary to 'never again'. However, some still carry on writing, and I am grateful for it.

Winter lights
Dec. 5th, 2021 16:27And this is the Christmas tree-like contraption at the Cathedral Square in Vilnius. This is a very rare year when I took some steps to actually see it, as the lights lured me on my usual trolleybus route from work in the late evening.
