So not so very long ago, walkawayslowly decided to write a Hockey Big Bang story. And I said I would do a mix for it. Which really meant, I picked out a handful of songs and made her help me with everything else. Because she is awesome like that. And today is the posting day, so here it is. Enjoy!!
So I started watching a show on AMC called "Rubicon" - it's all conspiracy and the like. I think the main dude, James Badge Dale, looks like a cross between Glee's Matthew Morrison and John McEnroe.
It's kind of disconcerting.
Also, my roommate has no idea who John McEnroe is.
Am still alive. Am in the land of little to no internet access. Been spending insane amounts of time with the nephews. Will have to buy oldest bro a new copy of the Castle book, as other older bro's cat decided to chew on it. Went to amusement park. Got pooped on by a bird. Am doing tons o' stuff for work. Started watching American Pickers, love it. Going back to OK in a weekish.
The roomie and I went to see Robin Hood tonight, and both of us enjoyed it immensely. Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett were awesome. Now we both want to read stories about Robin and Marian parenting all of the orphan children in the forest. And being crazy in love.
I think we might be seeing it again this week. And I'm definitely buying it when it comes out.
I don't know, there is just something about Russell Crowe that pushes all the right buttons for me.
I grew up watching Doctor Who. My dad, brothers and I would catch it Saturday afternoons on our local PBS station. Four was the Doctor I imprinted on, though my Companion on choice was Ace. Might have been because I was 15-16 and felt out of place.
Anyhoo, I weathered through the comings and goings of the Doctor, and was truly excited when new Who came on. I enjoyed Nine, but may have felt slightly superior when people were moaning about him (and later Rose) leaving, because that's just how it was. And then Ten came, and I fell in love with the Doctor all over again. I know there are people out there who just DID NOT like him, but this girl was not one of them. I mean, he overtook Four as my favorite Doctor, and that's not an easy feat. So despite everything, I was sad when Ten left. I mean, there wasn't wailing and gnashing of teeth, but I'll admit that I cried a little when Eleven appeared. Because now *my* Doctor is gone.
That being said, I caught the first half of 'Eleventh Hour' on Saturday and I think I'm really going to enjoy Eleven. He's no Ten, but he *is* the Doctor, and I'd be a fool not to follow his lead. So I went ahead and ordered a season pass, since I still had Christmas money left on iTunes.
So as soon as I finished watching tonight's ep I ran to my computer to look for other people squeeing over it, because HELLO! Esposito, if I didn't love you before I would so love you now. And Kevin Ryan! I just want to squeeze them all. Totes.
