Agilitas x Virat Kohli partnership is one of the masterstroke deals I have seen in recent times. Virat invests 40 CR in Agilitas for a 1.94% stake, putting Agilitas’s valuation around 2000 CR. 📈 In turn, Agilitas acquires one8world, making Virat a co-founder and shareholder. They now get two very important growth levers: ⬇️ 1. A powerful manufacturing (via Mochiko Shoes - a 600 CR+ footwear brand that Agilitas acquired in 2008 ), 2. India’s biggest athlete — exclusively aligned. Easily becomes a 4000 CR revenue brand in the next 5 years. Footwear + retail scale requires capital — but this partnership compresses customer acquisition, product cycles, and brand-building like few others. Even Virat said in his podcast with Abhishek Ganguly, the co-founder of Agilitas that, “I didn’t want a brand deal… I wanted to build something that outlives me.” And Abhishek said something even beautiful - “An ambition to build from India but be globally relevant.” This isn’t marketing. This is legacy building with shared skin in the game. And that is how startups work - shared ambition with one goal (to make the company big) and food (read stake) in the table for everyone! A company that can be built in the long term with culture, capital, and conviction aligned. This might be the first time in India, where an athlete joins hands with a sport company to re-imagine and build the sport ecosystem of India - truly revolutionalising the game with a clear vision. 🙌

Whenever a new industry takes shape and scale, ancillary/supporting companies also get set up. We call such companies as ‘Enablers’, the ‘Picks and Shovels’, to the large and growing industries. For eg: Contract manufacturers for FMCG/Pharma/Electronics/Mobiles, auto-ancillaries for OEMs, bottling plants for Coke. These are supply side businesses. There are demand side businesses also. For eg. Franchisees of QSR/retail brands, Cloud kitchen business on Food Delivery apps, Fleet operators on Ride hailing apps. When E-Commerce started scaling in India, we saw players like Delhivery, Shadowfax and Shiprocket emerge. Pleased to announce that Karekeba Ventures, among others, has invested in Stylework SaaS-based co-working/managed workspace aggregator Stylework on Wednesday announced the closure of Rs 30-crore Pre-Series B funding, which is planned to be deployed towards technology enhancement, domestic and international market expansion, and hiring key leadership personnel. Of the total funding, the company had achieved the first close of Rs 10-crore led by Equentis Angel Fund last month, with participation from Karekeba ventures /Cogniphy AIF Fund alongside continued subscriptions from Lets Venture Fund, MoneyVyapaar, HNIs and other strategic investors, Stylework said. OYO-Backed Sunday PropTech Acquires 8 Premium Hotels Sunday PropTech, the PRISM-backed hotel asset platform of OYO, has acquired a portfolio of eight premium hotel properties in India, marking a strategic step in its asset-led expansion across the country’s premium and mid-premium hospitality segment. Industry sources estimate the combined value of these acquisitions to be around ₹800 crore, reflecting strong investor and market confidence in branded hotel assets. Elivaas, a Gurugram-based luxury villa and apartment management platform, raised $10.4M in a Series B led by Vertex Ventures. The company plans to expand into Southeast Asia and integrate AI to enhance its offerings. Meanwhile, Pronto, founded in April 2025, secured $11M led by General Catalyst to scale its shift-based model for on-demand home services in Gurugram. Founded in 2023, Elivaas operates in 32 Indian cities, enabling homeowners to monetize properties while serving travelers and housekeepers. Mumbai-based proptech startup Truva has raised USD 9 million (approximately ₹78 crore) in a funding round co-led by early-stage venture capital firms Stellaris Venture Partners and Orios Venture Partners, underscoring growing investor confidence in technology-driven solutions for India’s resale housing market. Of the total capital raised, USD 7.3 million came from equity sales, while USD 1.7 million was secured as venture debt from Stride Ventures. The round also saw participation from prominent angel investors, including Myntra co-founder Mukesh Bansal, Livspace co-founder Ramakant Sharma, and PeerCheque co-founders Aakrit Vaish and Miten Sampat. Founded in 2023 by Monil Singhal, Puneet Arora, and Ankit Gupta, Truva operates a full-stack resale homes platform that manages the end-to-end transaction lifecycle - from property discovery and pricing to legal verification, staging, documentation, and closing. The company also integrates support for financing and registration, aiming to simplify a traditionally fragmented and opaque market. The fresh funding will be deployed to deepen Truva’s presence in Mumbai, expand into new metropolitan markets such as Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, strengthen its proprietary TruIQ real estate intelligence engine, and support inventory-linked working capital for staging, legal checks, and transaction execution at scale. Since its inception, Truva has reported multi-fold year-on-year growth, operating across seven micro-markets in Mumbai with resale transactions worth hundreds of crores, and has facilitated sales for more than 200 buyers and sellers.
