Once, long ago, in a galaxy far away, Immeritus opened the Before and After Challenge in the creative forums.

Several wonderful people entered these challenges, displaying an amazing amount of skill and talent. It is now up to you, faithful readers and viewers to decide who will win.

Voting is now open for the Before challenge. It will remain open for only one more day. Procrastination could spell your DOOM!!

Beginning Friday and running through the weekend, the After vote will be held.

To celebrate the imminent release of both the Order of the Phoenix film and the Deathly Hallows book, we're introducing a two-part challenge - The Before and After Challenge in fact!

For part One all you have to do is write about, draw or otherwise depict, a scene which you think will be in either the OotP film or the DH book. For part Two, we're asking you to write about, draw or otherwise depict a scene that actually appeared in the OotP film or DH book.

There are different deadlines for each part so be sure to see the Fanart, Fanfiction, and Poetry forums for full details.

It's been a little over a year since we've solicited your thoughts on our monthly fanart, fanfic, and poetry challenges so we'd like to pick your helpful brains again! We'd like feedback from all of our artists, ficcers, and poets, whether you've entered one of the challenges lately or not; we want to hear from you!

We have a small set of questions on challenge types we've run and are thinking about offering as well as on theme suggestions and your general feeling about posting your work at Immeritus. Feel free to copy and paste the questions and add your responses. Comments are screened so there's no need to worry about anyone but staff seeing your comments! Please get your feedback in by Monday, May 14, 2007 so we can use the results for future challenges!

Please make sure you put your Immeritus screenname as your comment subject and also state whether you are an artist, author, poet, none of the above or all of the above!

Hi everyone!

We've been having a lot of fun this month and a few of our events are coming to a close.

The Fanart Food Art Challenge is over, but voting is now open. Let us know which HP food art piece you find the most creative; cast your vote here. The poll will be open until August 31.

Fanfic's AU "What if Sirius...?" challenge has also closed. Voting is open here and will also run until August 31.

The Sirius: The Godfather debate ended last night and it's up to the readers now to decide which team presented the most convincing argument. The debate can be read here. Voting is open here and will run until August 30.

In RPG, the Immeritus Murder Party 4: The Godmother game is now in it's Question & Answer round. Questions can be posted here until Sunday, August 27 and guesses on whodunnit can be PM'd to gamemaster, Sirius Star (aka conspiratorsb) until midnight Wednesday, August 30.

The Sirius: The Bachelor game is also voting off another bachelorette. Cast your votes at Tara's LJ (aka mauvaise_etoile) here by Monday, August 28; be sure to leave your Immy screenname in a comment to the post.

This month's challenges are coming to a close, so before you forget, check these out!

• Coloring Contest with lineart by the wonderful Linn Standal!! You have until August 27th to get your entries in (we may push the deadline a few days if we hear of people still working on entries, keep us updated)!
• Food Art Fanart Challenge - The challenge is to create an HP using food. We have some fabulous entries, but you still have until the end of the day to get yours in!
• Sirius AU Fanfic Challenge - What if something had been just a little different? What would be the outcome of that? Also have until the end of the day to get your story in!
• Diary of Marauder Mischief Poetry Challenge - An open form poetry challenge that is also due at the end of today.
  
• 2006 Immeritus Member Awards - If you have yet to fill it out, you still have until the end of the month to get your votes in. Remember to read the details on that page and that you don't have to fill the entire thing out. You can also go back and edit your answers if you have changed your mind or made a mistake.
  

Those aside, there are still many awesome opportunities to participate and/or read some great posts in places like Unfogging the Future or the Immeritus Murder Party 4 - The Godmother, to name a couple.

In Fanart, we're looking for wallpapers and e-cards featuring fanart.

Fanfic and Poetry have teamed up and are asking 'What Happens Next?' Where do you think Harry Potter and friends (or enemies) are headed as they move into Year 7?

April is going to be Fandom Appreciation Month at Immeritus and to get the ball rolling, we're organizing a different type of challenge for the creative forums: the Fandom Appreciation Claims Challenge.

What we need: artists, authors, and poets willing to claim and fill art, fic, and poetry requests from fellow HP fans.

The challenge will open April 1st and claims will need to be filled by May 10.
