History Peter Petrelli is younger brother to Nathan Petrelli, and the second son of Angela and Arthur. He had been the more sensitive of the brothers, leading him to become a hospice nurse. A job that not many would willingly take on, or accept--including his family. Peter starts to have dreams about flying, dreams that include his brother. After an eclipse, Peter starts being unable to distinguish between the dream and reality, and feels a strong urge to see if he really can fly. He calls his brother to come and watch, but winds up falling. He winds up with concussion and in hospital, but convinced that his brother flew up to save him. Peter is continually told that he's imagining things, but the truth is that Nathan could fly, and Peter absorbed that power from him. Because of Peter's inherit empathy and ability to care for people, his enhanced ability allowed him to become a human sponge and absorb others' enhanced abilities making him both special, and as his mother describes him, "one of the strongest of us all". Peter's journey to discover more about his ability highlights his need to know more about who he is. He's always felt at odds with the way his life was, and how he thought it should be. Being special, and having an ability was supposed to have given him an identity. Even if he was fated to be the 'Exploding Man' and nearly destroy New York City. Nathan helps fly Peter away, and while they save NYC, Nathan is harmed in the explosion. That identity Peter worked for was stripped when Peter was taken to the Company, and after months of captivity escaped only to have memory and powers stripped by the Haitian. He was stuck in Ireland with no idea who he was. Peter eventually regained his memory, only to follow Adam Monroe on a mission to prevent a virus from being released and killing thousands. But Adam couldn't be trusted, and it's when Peter is reunited with Nathan that he sees that and destroys the virus. Afterwards, at a press conference where Nathan is about to reveal the existence of individuals with spectacular abilities, he is shot and Peter's world once again crumbles. Even when Nathan has recovered, the brothers' relationship is under strain again when it is revealed that their father is alive. Arthur strips Peter of his ability, leaving Peter just an ordinary human, once again wondering who he is. He's still ignorant of his brother's death, and Sylar being brainwashed to replace him. His mind is only on making a new start away from all the life and death, away from the crap. He's set up in Princeton, New Jersey at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital as an ICU nurse. And his life was simple until he got hit by a car driven by Randy Murray. Just when he thought he wasn't meant to find someone to share his life with ever again, the blonde lays down in the road with him while they wait for an ambulance, and Peter already starts to feel a niggle in gut that only grows over time. He can't imagine his life without her now, quirks and all. He's also conscious of the fact that he wants to keep her separate, and safe from his past, even if it means he keeps things from her. Afraid to Run - Carries on the current canons of both Heroes and House with a few little changes. Peter is a paramedic in New York who came across Robert Chase one night while the good doctor was out getting drunk to try and wash away some of the shit in his life. Peter has never been able to stop from saving people, so he gets Chase out from in front of a car before any major accident occurs, and winds up taking him back to his place to make sure he survives the night. They form a friendship that slowly starts to become something more, and Peter finds himself agreeing to come and be Chase's roommate in Princeton, unable to deny the chemistry there, even if both of them are damaged from former relationships.
