It makes it easy to make an identity of being scared. And it's easy to hear a loosely medicalized idea like "I am just fundamentally de-energized by social interaction, unlike other people, who aren't", and then dig in. And really you're just scared.

this was a while ago but my mother was telling me about my sister's egyptian boyfriend and she described him as 'arabic' and i politely corrected her saying "oh arabic is the language - the ethnic group is 'arab'." and as is often the case she thought i was splitting hairs over PC Language or whatever and got kind of incredulous before being like oh wait. you're right.

reminds me of the time where she said "oh wait that dog is a girl, it has nipples" and i had to explain to her that male dogs can also have nipples. and she thought i was doing a "don't assume his gender!" thing instead of just stating a fact. and i literally had to explain it to her like she was five like "well, they're mammals, like us. and men also often have nipples. ergo. male dogs also. have nipples." 55 year old woman with a masters degree

Just a little help close out the month

Though the last month was a disaster, with help I was able to get through everything. Things are far better this month, even with us supporting displaced family from the wildfires.

Whatever is left this month is my own shortfall with my own bills, to avoid any bounced payments or missed bills I need to close a smaller gap of 250 CAD.

If you have a little extra around to help out once more, I'd appreciate it. I'm glad to say it's getting closer and closer to no longer needing even a small dose of help and I don't want to lose that progress.

Here is my Paypal and Ko-fi, as usual with a goal set on the Ko-Fi to track the progress so not a penny extra is given. I never need more than I mention, it's planned that tightly.
