sadwal1538. She wanted Mardy/Tommy missing each other. Hope this fits the bill.
Summary: Mardy and Tommy haven't been together for a while, but Tommy surprises Mardy with a visit after his loss in Cincinnati.
Mardy smiles as Roger and Andy hug once they step off the elevator. "Again, good match Roger."
"Thank you, Mardy."
"Hey, Fish. You played good."
"Thanks, Andy." Mardy waves and heads off to his own room as the two of them go to celebrate Roger's win. He misses the days when he and Tommy would've been the ones running off to have celebratory sex. Whether they won or not, they both still considered it celebratory. But now, Tommy's off rehabbing his hip or his shoulder or whichever surgery he's had this year and Mardy's... well, Mardy's finally playing the way he's always wanted to play. The way he's always thought he should play. But somehow, it doesn't feel the same without Tommy by his side.
He lays down on the bed and picks up his phone, searching through the contacts for Tommy's number. If he can't have his lover with him, he can at least talk to him. He frowns when all he gets is voice mail. "Hey Hasi. Just wanted to say hi. I miss you. Hope to see you at the US Open." He starts to say more, but shakes his head and hangs up.
He debates for a moment laying around and feeling sorry for himself, but he shoves himself off the bed and changes into a button down shirt and slacks, slipping on some nicer shoes than his flip flops before he goes to bug Andy and Roger into going out to dinner with him.
~~~
Smiling when he sees whose call he'd miss, Tommy dials his voice mail box and his smile gets even wider. He dials Mardy back, looking around the hotel. "Mardy. Where are you?"
"At dinner with Roger and Andy. Hi."
"Hi. I missed you so much, I'm standing in the lobby of your hotel. So... give me the name of the restaurant and I'll be right there."
"Seriously? Tommy... Oh man. We're at Embers. We haven't even sat down yet, so we'll get a table for four. Hurry."
Tommy grins as they say goodbye and hang up, then he asks the clerk at the desk to hold his things for a few hours. After he agrees, Tommy heads to the restaurant. He spots Andy and Roger before he sees Mardy and he frowns. "Where is he?" he mutters to himself after he tells the maitre d' he sees his party. He starts for them, jumping when someone grabs him.
"Hi Tommy."
Tommy turns and hugs Mardy, trying to keep it casual. "Hi Fish."
Mardy grins when they break apart. "Let's go eat, huh?"
"Sure. I get to see what you can eat on this new diet of yours."
"Not a diet."
"Right. Right. It's a lifestyle change." Tommy and Mardy grin at each other as they join Andy and Roger at the table. After dinner, the two couples go their separate ways and Mardy and Tommy head for a nearby park.
Once inside the park, Tommy takes Mardy's hand as they walk along the bike path. "I am so proud of how you've played this year. You've been amazing. I'm just sorry I haven't been by your side to celebrate with you."
Mardy glances at their joined hands, then shrugs a little. "You've got to take time to heal, Tommy. Rehab takes time. No one knows that better than us."
"Yeah, but... Damn. Mar, you won two titles and I wasn't there for you. You've always been there for me, even when you were rehabbing."
"Maybe that's why I wasn't as good as I have been this year."
"What are you saying?"
"Not what you're thinking." Mardy swats him gently. "I just meant that maybe because I've always been so worried about getting back on court myself and as a result have gone with you to all your tournaments even when I should've stayed home, maybe that's part of why I kept doing shitty."
Tommy smiles and squeezes his hand. "I know what you mean. So... well, what do you mean?"
"Tommy, I mean you need to stay in rehab. Keep getting better so in a few months or a year or whenever the doctor gives you the okay, you can come back and play." Mardy kisses him, then turns a little to stare up at the sky. "I want you with me as much as possible, but I don't want you to risk your career."
Tommy hugs him from behind, kissing Mardy's neck. "Okay. But I am going to randomly show up at tournaments until then just to cheer you on. No one but you and I need to know I'm there, but it won't stop me."
Mardy turns and hugs him. "Okay. That's a deal then."
"So... you wanna head back to your hotel room?"
"Our hotel room. And are you going to the US Open with us?"
"You better believe it. No way I'm missing it. Especially not after the summer you've had so far."
Mardy laughs as they head back to the hotel. "It's not like I'm going to win it. It'll be a miracle if I get to the quarters again."
Tommy shakes his head. "That's the other part of your new lifestyle change that you've got to work on more. Your self-confidence. You could win the US Open."
"Yeah, if Roger, Novak, Murray, Andy and Rafa all fall down and break both legs, I might have a shot."
Tommy grins at the thought. "Someone might call foul if that actually happened, though I'm tempted to do it for you."
Mardy shakes his head, grinning back. "Then you'd never get to get back on tour."
"Darn. Guess I won't then." Tommy heads for the registration desk and gets his bags, then follows Mardy up to his room. "I am proud of you, Mardy. You've been playing amazing tennis, you've never looked hotter, and the extra added bonus for me? You've got more energy."
Mardy rolls his eyes as he flops back on the bed. "Yes, but that energy should be going into my tennis, not into you getting laid."
"Why else would I be in Cincinnati?"
Mardy eyes him, then grins when Tommy continues to try to act like he's serious. "Tommy, if you only wanted sex, all you'd have to do is go to a club and women and men alike would be happily jumping your body."
"Ah, you've caught me out." Tommy crawls on top of him and sits on his stomach. "You're who I want. For now." He gives a little shrug and grins, laughing when Mardy flips him off. Then he leans down and kisses him. "To make up for missing so many important matches, you get a reward."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah. So... Anything you want."
Mardy eyes him for a minute, then smiles. "I want in you."
"Not much of a reward."
"Is to me."
Kissing him, Tommy nods. "Okay. If that's what you want." He grabs his bag and pulls out the lube, tossing it next to Mardy's head before he crawls off the bed and strips off his clothes. "How do you want in me?"
"I want you to ride me." Mardy sits up enough to tug his shirt off, then he wiggles out of his pants, stopping when he notices that Tommy's just staring. "What? I know I'm like super skinny now and..."
"Yeah, you are, but Fish you look hot. I've always loved your body, but damn. You're all cut and shit."
Snorting, Mardy finishes undressing. "Such a way with words, Haas."
Tommy pounces on him, kissing him deeply. "Yeah, you still love me."
"Unfortunately for me." Mardy grabs the lube and hands it to Tommy. "Get yourself ready for me, okay?"
Tommy takes the lube and squirts some over his fingers before he starts to prepare himself. After he finishes, they have sex, Tommy teasing Mardy a little as he rides him and after they've both come, he settles down next to him, taking Mardy's hand in his. "I am so proud of you, Fish."
"Thanks, Tommy." He rolls onto his side and kisses Tommy's neck. "I'm glad you're here with me."
"There's no place else I'd rather be."
