| THE COMMUNITY |
| Welcome to Icon Incantatem, your one-stop shop for Harry Potter text-only icons. In this community you may post your own icons, take part in icon challenges, and we even have an index of places where you can request an icon. Text-only is pretty self explanatory. The text is the central focus of the icon. In addition to the text, you may use textures, gradients, brushes, and dingbats. You may not use movie images, book illustrations, fan art, or stock photos. As an example, this icon qualifies, while this one does not. |
| POSTING ICONS |
- This community is for text-only icons, obviously. - Post no more than three icons outside a LJ cut. - All R-rated icons must be behind a cut. - You may link to another journal for the rest of your icons, if you wish. - You can post other graphics (headers, banners, wallpapers, etc) only if they are behind a cut and you're posting icons as well. - You are not required to put spoilers behind a cut, but you of course can if you want to. |
| ENTERING CONTESTS |
| - In a contest, a certain chapter or passage from the HP books may be assigned, and your task will be to make an icon featuring a quote from that excerpt. Or, there may a theme: a situation, an emotion, a character, an idea, etc. - Comments will be screened. - Icons must be text-only. - Entries must stay anonymous; the icon you submit should not be posted elsewhere until the challenge has ended. - Don't vote for yourself or have other people vote for you. - Only submit icons you made yourself. - They must be within the LJ limits: .jpg, .gif, or .png, and no larger than 100x100 pixels and 40 kb. - Depending on the challenge, you may need to provide the exact place your quote comes from. However, you will always need to submit your icon in both image and URL form, like this:  http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b176/fading_melody/dh/lumos.png |
