It's funny to me that Andrew Hussie is commissioning an official Homestuck sequel to try and build hype for a dead webcomic so that he can sell a TV show to Amazon, and that sequel is starting to have a fun breakout character people like whose gimmick is being an angry surly punk who hates her parents for giving her an insanely stupid name. But because Hussie was in a bad place at the time and thought it would be funny to piss people off by having said name be "Yiffy", they can't actually use her in advertising and you can't even tag posts on Tumblr with her name because it gets flagged NSFW so even the six people still reading Homestuck 2 can't make fanart of her that gets spread and makes people aware the series exists.

But it wouldn't be Homestuck if it wasn't on fire all the time.

Squelch! Squelch is the technical shorthand for noise gating. Your antenna will constantly pick up ambient noise, which is useless and annoying to listen to all day while you wait for a call. Squelch tells the radio to mute the speakers if the overall power of the signal coming through is below a certain level. You twiddle your squelch until it just cuts out ambient noise, and when someone tries to talk to you the extra power from their signal will go above your squelch setting and it'll unmute so you can hear whoever's calling you.
