Budapest Airport celebrates 65 years of Austrian Airlines' service to Hungarian capital Budapest Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, is proud to mark a significant aviation milestone as Austrian Airlines celebrates 65 years of continuous service between Vienna and Budapest on August 8th. Sustainable renovation of taxiway G at Budapest Airport Budapest Airport has begun the renovation of taxiway G, which primarily serves air traffic around Terminal 1. The works are necessary because the existing paved surfaces and utility systems have reached the end of their intended life and require refurbishment. The works, which will be carried out in three phases until summer 2026, will involve the construction of around 17,000 square meters of new basalt concrete pavement and substructures, water drains and culverts, as well as the renewal of the visual navigation system, floodlighting and the airfield lighting systems. During the construction works, Budapest Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, pays special attention to sustainability; nearly 99% of the demolished materials will be recycled, after obtaining the necessary certifications, thus significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions from transportation. #BudapestAirport #VINCIAirports

Budapest Airport, part of the the VINCI Airports network, closed the first half of the year with more than 9 million passengers and another cargo record After a record first quarter, passenger traffic at Ferenc Liszt International Airport continues to climb steadily. The airport handled 9,071,236 passengers in the first half of the year, 15% more than in the same period last year, which approaches the total passenger traffic of the entire year ten years ago. The sixth-monthly passenger number is a record in itself, with 1 697 371 passengers in June, 9% more than in 2024. The most popular destinations in the first month of summer were London, Istanbul and Milan. The growth is driven by Hungary’s popularity, growing tourism and the increasing propensity by Hungarians to travel, supported by the greatest choice ever offered in the summer schedule. Air cargo traffic is also setting new records in 2025; Budapest Airport handled 34,994 tons of cargo in June, a 40% increase compared to last year. Cargo performance in the first six months of the year broke all previous records with 199,319 tons, an increase of almost 50% compared to the first six months of 2024, exceeding the full year figure for 2022 and almost reaching the annual cargo volume handled in 2023. This further strengthens the role of Budapest Airport and the BUD Cargo City as a regional cargo hub. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dhwQ6KZU #BudapestAirport #VINCIAirports
