Pansy had a thing for him.
He knew this, but he didn't feel the same way. He let the ruse play the way it should---or rather as he knew his family thought it should. When no one else was with him, he watched the other girl, carefully. She had stopped liking Harry, and he was pleased. But now she was often accompanied by any random Gryffindor male.
"Happy Christmas!" Pansy kissed him and sat down. "This is for you!"
He pretended to like it. At this point, he was the best actor in the world.
He had to be.
