We Live In Seattle

Greetings, Seattle HP fans! I just discovered this comm, and I notice that A) your mod seems to have dropped off the face of the earth, and B) no one has posted here in about eight months. I just this week inherited the modship of a small comm called seattlewizardry which is pretty much designed to do the same thing this one does. I'm working on growing membership, and I'm hoping to turn it into a fun, active place. If anyone here is interested in getting to know other HP fans in the Seattle area, and maybe meeting up for local geekishness, please feel free to join!

I plan to be at the Pacific Science Center for the midnight release of  DH2. The line party has been fun and I want to join in. I am trying to get some people to come on down and have fun before the show. Maybe a picnic dinner with items from the Harry Potter cook book? I recently purchased and used at Norwescon and the HPE Infra-red dueling wands. Anyone up for Wizard Dueling Lazer Tag style? This is the last movie release and I would like to make it a fun and remembered.

The Harry Potter Exhibition leaves Seattle soon. I was trying to find out if anyone would like to do a group visit on it's last day.

I just got back from the muggle preview of the HP expo at the science center. WOW!!!!!

I saw HBP on IMAX  today. WOW!!!!!!!

Anyone know if any place is having a release party for beedle the bard?

For Sale: Quidditch Bludger Bats

I have a couple of Quidditch bats for your HP cosplayers. A previous commission fell through, so I am offering them up here for sale. If you've got a Quidditch costume, why not make it a Beater? I made one of these for my Chudley Cannons costume, and it really made the costume, I got quite a few compliments on it.

I have two for sale right now. These are hand turned by me in my shop. They are made from Poplar wood, stained dark to resemble the movie version and finished with a couple of coats of polyurethane to protect it. The length of each bat is 17 1/2".

They are $35 each, plus shipping. I am guessing around $7 for shipping due to size in the US. I do take Paypal, please contact me at badger at badgerwoodworks.com for details.

Quite a few have sold, but I thought I'd post which were still available. Also, I have a little time now for custom orders if anyone has requests.

Each wand is hand turned from hardwoods, and each wand is unique. I shape and sand them smooth, and put a protective finish on it so it will last.

Ok, so I decided to go ahead and host a little open house "read-together" party for those of us what love Harry Potter.
