finished!!

I finally finished Book 5 last night!!!

The last like 6 chapters of that book are so intense that i couldn't put the book down! It all felt like one chapter because when it was a new chapter i read right into it without even like breathing..so i never noticed the new chapters! I Love Harry Potter.

SO i finally get to start book 6 tonight..
We are reading chapter 12 tonight in book 6.

SO like i said... i saved my favorite quotes from book 5, many of them are similar to Sam's and all of Sam's i liked too but i tried not to include them in my list cuz you've already read them before.

I hate Umbridge!

SO yeah Harry Potter=Amazing

i just wish i had more time to read :-(

so yeah i'm still on chapter 23 of book 5.. but i'm trying really hard.. i read all morning today and knocked off 150 pages but i've still got a lot to go... i feel like i should be reading right now and not doing my homework.. HP is very important.

I loved sam's quotes from the 5th book so from now on i think i'm going to try and save my favorite quotes so i can share them with you when i finally finish.

But yeah so tonight we were suppose to read Chapter 3 of Book 6, it would probably be a good idea if i caught up with book 6 so i'm not really behind.. but book 5 is too good i'm glued! Umbridge makes me soo mad.

ok well i should stop procrastinating so i can finish my homework then go read HP!!!!

..OH Harry Potter, how I love thee..

So.. we're supposed to be wrapping up the 5th book. I know people are behind.. but I noticed a HUGE similarity to one thing and I really wanted to bring it up.

You know how Dumbledore died and everything? What if hes really not dead.. cause His characteristics of the death were weird.. like most people just drop dead after Avada Kedavra.. he didn't he floated up.

"Harry's scream of horror never left him; silent and unmoving, he was forced to watch as Dumbledore was blasted into the air. For a split second, he seemed to hang suspended beneath the shining skull, and then he fell slowly backward, like a great rag doll, over the battlements and out of sight." pg. 596

WELLL.. listen to the characteristics when McGonagall got stunned in the 5th book.

"Halfway between the cabin and the castle the red beams collided with her. For a moment she looked luminous, illuminated by an eerie red glow, then was lifted right off her feet, landed hard on her back, and moved no more."

Sounds an awful lot like Dumbledores death doesn't it?

YEAHH. =-)

Also I'm catching so much more this time around with the 5th book.. I guess I just understand so much more.
Harry is PMSing BIG time, and the Weasley twins are HILARIOUS to Umbridge.. actually all the teachers are..
some of my favorite quotes are..
quotes.. theres a lot of them =-)Collapse )

--the goblet of fire--

I love how we haven't written in this since we were reading the 2nd book.

So about Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
It's amazing how many interesting/important things the movie left out, it makes me sad.
for example--
-The muggle giving directions at the World Cup.
-Harry dropping his egg and getting stuck in the tricky stair after his bubble bath.
-Harry and Krum finding Crouch near the forrest.
-Harry had the dream back when he was it Privet Drive not at the Burrow.

And i'm sure there's more but i can't think of anymore.

Keep up the reading... i'm only like a half a chapter behind, but i'm catching up tonight.

Today is Wednesday the 29th and i believe we are suppose to be reading chapter 31 tonight--just for a reference

Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone: Accomplished!

Well On to the second book!

My favorite quotes throughout the book.

Chapter Four:
"Harry stretched out his hand at last to take the yellowish envelope, addressed in emerald green to Mr. H. Potter, The Floor, Hut-on-the-Rock, The Sea."

Chapter Seven:
"'Ah, Music,' he said, wiping his eyes. 'A magic beyond all we do here! And now, bedtime. Off you trot!'"

Chapter Eight:
"Professor Binns had been very old indeed when he had fallen asleep in front of the staff room fire and got up the next morning to teach, leaving his body behind him."

Chapter Twelve:
"'I suppose she thinks you don't forget your name. But we're not stupid- We know that we're called Gred and Forge.'"

Well I must go and start the second book!

Sleepover my house Saturday at 7pm. Harry Potter night!!!

..new book!..

Wow. the first book flew by.
Its done, and we can move onto bigger and better things.
well, Chamber of Secrets is my least favorite, but its alright.
But its where Harry and Ginny start getting closer.
and since I'm Ginny.. well I have no clue where I'm going with this one.

I'll just write some of my favorite quotes, and some things I liked.

Pg.202 "I suppose she thinks you don't forget your name. But we're not stupid-- we know we're called Gred and Forge."

Pg. 214 "It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget how to live."

Pg. 194 "The lake froze solid and the Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they followed Quirrel around, bouncing off the back of his turban." When in reality it was bouncing off Voldemort!!

Pg.221 "Harry didn't see how he could-- yet he sometimes had the horrible feeling that Snape could read minds." We find out MUCH MUCH later that Snape actually can! Occlumency! Wow, so many Snape really could read Harrys mind. sketchy.

Pg. 262 "In years to come, Harry would never quite remember how he had managed to get through his exams when he half expected Voldemort to come bursting through the door at any moment."

Pg. 287 "--but there's no wood!? Hermione cried, wringing her hands. "HAVE YOU GONE MAD?" Ron bellowed. "ARE YOU A WITCH OR NOT?"

Pg. 300 "I was unfortunate enough in my youth to come across a vomit-flavored one, and since then I'm afraid I've rather lost my liking for them--but I think I'll be safe witha nice toffee, don't you?" He smiled and popped the golden-brown bean into his mouth. Then he choked and said, "Alas! Ear wax!"

Oh! Another thing. I got a stupid question wrong on HP scene it? About what Harry had to do to get pass the dog. In the book he played the flute Hagrid gave to him, but the movie did it differently. I wonder why? would it have been that much effort to have Harry play a flute as opposed to having the harp already play?

I never really realized how many references they make to Quirrels turban.. Theres quite a few. heh.

UM YAY THE END OF BOOK 1.
I am excited to move on.

..Chapter 5..

Okay. I have a theory.
Run with me on this one..
If you can't keep up, at least try jogging =-).

You know how theres an "Heir of Slytherin?"..well its Voldemort.
what if theres an "Heir of Gryffindor?".
Harry? Duh.

I mean when he got his wand "a stram of red and gold sparks shot from the end like a firework." Gryffindor colors!

and only "a true Gryffindor could have pulled the sword out of the sorting hat in the Chamber of Secrets.

AND... Harrys parents were killed at "Godrics Hollow." and its Godric Gryffindor.

I think in that last book it'll be a duel of Heirs.. well duh they're are going to battle, but will he be the heir of Gryffindor?

Okay thats my theory.
Make any sense to any one?

My favorite quote of Chapter 5 (its kinda long): "This was just an ordinary street full of ordinary people. Could there really be piles of wizard gold buried miles beneath them? Were there really shops that sold spell books and broomsticks? Might this not all be some huge joke that the Dursleys had cooked up? If Harry hadn't known that the Dursleys had no sense of humor, he might have thought so; yet somehow, even though everything Hagrid had told him so far was unbelievable, Harry couldn't help trusting him."

Chapter 4: WHOOP.

Okay.. so this is going to be short entry.

I LOVE Hagrid. especially in this chapter.
I have a question.. the scar on Harrys forehead.. is that the shape of a cut he had? or just cause it was evil it decided to make a lightning bolt in the middle of his forehead?.. that always confuses me.

Alright
Favorite Quote:
"Hagrid looked at Harry with warmth and respect blazing in his eyes, but Harry, instead of feeling pleased and proud, felt quite sure there had been a horrible mistake."

I'm quite upset my ice cubes didn't work

..Mission 3: Accomplished..

"The rest of them were all quite happy to join in Dudly's favorite sport: Harry Hunting." LYK OMFGQ!11!1! Thats my favorite sport too! :-P

As much as I love HP.. I can't wait until he gets to Hogwarts, the whole intro thing is kinda not as interesting.. Still its good to analyze. so here I go!

Favorite Quotes:
" 'Hurry up, boy!' shouted Uncle Vernon from the kitchen. 'What are you doing, checking for letter bombs?' He chuckled at his own joke.

and..

"He hummed 'Tiptoe Through the Tulips' as he worked, and jumped at small noises."

So this chapter really focuses on Uncle Vernon more than Harry I think.. and in a way, I really like it.. I get to laugh at all the retarded things he does to avoid wizards, driving around aimlessly, renting a putt putt boat out to a deserted island. Possibly my favorite, the first time I noticed it too, and I've read this book at least 9 times, when he gets out of the car on a bridge, and on the top of a parking garage, he looks around shakes his head and then drives off.. Somehow I missed that in my readings before. "Shake it off, Shake it off." heh.

Well off to flush ice cubes down the toilet, finish homework and read chapter 4! Night everybody!

Chapter Three: Defeated

Chapter three. I always forget how much effort Uncle Vernon puts in, so Harry doesn't get his letters. It's so amusing to read. I don't think they should have cut the majority of this chapter out of the movie. I think it would have been more interesting if they had left the chapter the way it was. I always forget that they went to a hotel room before they went to the rickety house on the island.

My favorite quote from Chapter Three:
"'They stuff people's heads down the toilet the first day at Stonewall,' he told Harry. 'Want to come upstairs and practice?'
'No, thanks,' said Harry. 'The poor toilet's never had anything as horrible as your head down it- it might be sick.' Then he ran, before Dudley could work out what he'd said."
