if you feel like its getting to be a problem thats affecting you negatively mentally, here's what you do

it'll take time, but it really helps

start going through all your stuff, drawer by drawer, shelf by shelf, etc. have a trash bag and a cardboard box(es) nearby.

ask yourself for each thing, is this something that brings me joy? Why am I keeping it? Is there a story behind it? is it from someone that means something to me? if so, how many things do i have from this person, and could i consider only keeping the ones that mean the most to me?

and my personal favorite, if I saw this thing at the thrift store or something for 5 dollars, would i buy it again?

and if the answer to those questions is no, then throw the craft or note or something away, or put the thing or toy or other still usable item in the box

you can clear things up, and the boxes can be taken to your local thrift store to pass on to someone else
