All my time spent on

So since I've written about every other time I've seen BYD (5x now) I figured I might as well uphold tradition.

So this is the first time I've seen Bury Your Dead since March '08 - I know this because I update every time I see them. This is clearly too long, but I'm told it shouldn't be that long until they come back to Detroit. Yay!

So I would do something really creative to see The Juliana Theory. Unfortunately they kind of made up a new band, Vesta, without Brett, so...

BUT, I just bought tickets to see THROWDOWN for the first time, with BURY YOUR DEAD. And FOR TODAY. SO EXCITED! I'm thisclose to getting some Throwdown lyrics as a tattoo, but keep missing them when they come around. So the fact that they're bringing BYD is just like, fudge icing on a chocolate chip brownie sundae or something else just as delicious. And For Today was the band I missed when I was in Wisconsin, due to the fact that ponies are a lot of work and I was too tired to go to a show, sadly. So I'm really looking forward to this show, even if I can't convince anyone to come with me. I'll brave Detroit alone!

Miss May I is also coming to Detroit soon, with I Set My Friends On Fire. I'm hoping I have someone who'll go to that with me, but we'll see if that happens.

Other than that I'm not really dying to see anyone. I'd still like to catch In Flames, but not enough to drive anywhere out of the ordinary. Oh, Demon Hunter! I definitely need to see Demon Hunter! They did some shows in California - with Throwdown - which I obviously did not travel to see. I wouldn't have minded, actually, I think that would be really fun to do, but this whole full-time-job/school thing isn't as lenient as I would like. Something that's kind of on my things-to-do-before-I-die list is to check out that huge festival in Australia, and the metal one in Mass. Bamboozle is quite the roadtrip, so I think I've proven I'm willing to travel if it's worth it!

So, due to the cold weather we've suddenly gotten, I started pulling out sweaters and figured I'd document some outfits I was particularly pleased with.

In other news, I've decided I need to schedule some time doing stuff I like - hence, I started searching either for a horse to partial lease, or a really good, close trainer. Unfortunately, nothing was available for lease on the thousands of websites I looked at, so I think I have two lessons scheduled - the one hasn't actually confirmed the time for next Tuesday, and the other one needs me to call and confirm the two weeks away Tuesday lesson the Monday before.

But, the first one has a possible full lease on some TBs for only $200/month, and the second one is an event trainer, so that could be really fun if she ends up having room for me - apparently she's really full, and the fact that I'm more h/j is working against me. I have one more place I might call, as it's only 15 minutes away, but I'm waiting to confirm with the first lady so I can set up a time for next week with this new one. I figure taking a lesson is more fun than just watching them give one, so hopefully something works out.

AHHHH! GO RED WINGS! Bringing Stanley back to HOCKEYTOWN!

My favorite part was when Ozzie said he's going back to the locker room to smack Hudler over the head with his stick. :D

Haha, or else when McCarty just said if anyone wanted to talk about Ozzie, he'd punch 'em in the mouth. Yay for Mac being back. Party in the D!

Also, Dallas Drake makes me happy, because he boards his dogs with us. ;] Glad he finally got it! Especially since I think Lebda just called him a fossil!

Seriously. I love my hockey to look like hockey, and that third period was gorgeous, fast, real hockey.

Stupid goal with 30 seconds left.

Stupid refs calling fucking goalie interference. Where the hell was Cleary supposed to go?

And as stupid as that stick/blood/4 minute penalty was, it just got away from him. Poor Hud. As soon as that happened, pretty much knew it was over. :[

Oh well. I wanted it in five, and they gave 'em hell. Maybe they'll have 'em figured out for game six. I'm tired of gettingthisclose for Detroit's teams - let's bring one home!

This post is going to be epic. That's about the most fitting word I can think of for a 2-day concert with 27+ bands and the ridiculousness that comes along with two 10 hour drives.
