We will be cooked as long as there are any feminists who believe that a child seeing somebody's tits before the age of 18 is tantamount to rape, and therefore only my cis brother can take his shirt off at the beach, because if I do, I will scar some 9-year-old for life. This level of prudishness is unbelievable to me. It's "we want gender egalitarianism and body autonomy!" until I use my body autonomy, and then everyone wants me to know that my body is inappropriate for children and that it is immoral for me not to accommodate their obsession with these completely non-sexual organs of mine. i wonder if it’s time for a cultural reappraisal of rob liefeld’s art. maybe we were all just too quick to judge a guy for daring to have a unique stylized take that focused on exaggeration and action. *actually looks at some of his art again* jesus CHRIST never mind
#this is me once every like six months. he really was that bad.
But let’s play out the thought experiment! What CAN we learn from Rob Liefeld’s art?
- You can do whatever you want forever
- At the end of the day, art is about vibes
- If you lean into Your Own Particular Brand of Bullshit with enough dedication, you CAN wring a career out of it
- Don’t ever fucking apologize for your art. Look at me. Look in my eyeballs. Don’t fucking apologize for your art ever. There are people like Rob Liefeld who are not apologizing for putting swords on titties. Why would YOU have to apologize for anything?
- Highlights and shadows are THE secret key to making your art look even a little bit interesting and dimensional and juicy to the eyeball. This works even if your shapes are dogshit.
- Highlights and shadows don’t have to go in logical places :)))) You can literally just throw them wherever. Follow ur heart.
- You don’t, apparently, have to bother learning anything about anatomy if you don’t feel like it
- Impostor syndrome is just trying to make you apologize for your art. Never apologize for your art. Stab impostor syndrome with your titty swords.
- It’s normal and fine to be horny when you draw.
- Forget about “Perfect is the enemy of good.” Perfect is the enemy of DONE.
- Literally do whatever you want forever.

Pro-censorship wattpad refugees drama is so funny to me because when I started using ao3 as a kid I was a devout mormon and I thought that reading anything even remotely pornagraphic was a sin and would ruin my life. So when I was 13 and found ao3 I went "oh awesome I found a fanfic website with a filtering system so I won't ever randomly stumble into porn. This is great! I was really worried about seeing something I didn't want to see on the other platforms." I didn't read any smut online until like three years later. If a mormon 13 year old can figure out 'don't like don't read' wattpad users can too cmon you guys i believe in you.
