OOC:
I apologize for it getting slow. That was partly my doing.
The new semester started, as has been pointed out, and has kept me busy.
I have been meaning to e-mail a few useres who have not posted in a few weeks. But as things have kept us all a bit busy, I'm going to give everyone until September 5th to post something on both their character journal and this community. If nothing has been posted by you by September 5th, I will delete you. No questions asked. I'm sorry, but I've given warnings already.
I hope everyone's well. If you have any questions, complaints, or concerns, please feel free to let one of the mods know.

OOC: Lagging Behind

I've finally gotten around to fixing up Makalia's profile. Her correct age pretaining to Post-War is up, along with a new little bio. So I suggest everyone goes and reads that.
Just wanted to point that out.
Home, Home On The Range...
Who: Allura C. Jones
Where: Home(On The Range)
When: Right....now?
Subject: Allura is reading and listening to muslc. Wishing that someone would come over, or some kind of action would occur. So far, her wishes have not come true. What else is new.
"Lovely, just lovely..." Allura yawned as she hit her head against the table. Up, down, Up, down. The harsh banging of her forehead against the hard oak table resonating throughtout the gloomly, devoid-of-all-human habitants-except-for-herself, house. With a deep sigh, she indolently stood up, her arms flopping about her sides like jello. Suddenly, her wrist watch buzzed against her skin, causing her to jump in surprise. A wide , almost psychotic grin came across her face, Grabbing her travelling cloak, she headed out the door, opening it widely, and letting it slam shut behind her by itself. With a swift motion, she had her wand out, and ready as she whistled lowly. A great, pure white winged horse came flying down effortlessly to her side as she hopped on with ease, and kicked the horses sides gently. The great winged horse tightened it's muscles, then sprung up from the ground and took off into the cool, mid afternoon breeze.
Allura ended up at a very familiar place. A place that, compared to Azkaban, was like heaven on earth. To many of the habitants, it was. With rolling fields of green grass, giant oak and beech trees towering above even the tallest of buildings in the little neighboorhood. The sun shining, and generous, smiling faces everywhere. With her guitar slung over her shoulder, Allura walked off to the nearest little cottage, and opened the door. Moving off to the side, a couple of younger kids came barreling out, laughing and playing. A small smile crossed Allura's lips as she entered. Greeting the caretaker with a smile and a wave, Allura began to walk down a long, dimly light hallway. "Dylan! There's a visitor here for you!" came the voice of one of the younger caretakers as she walked out of a room at the far end of the hallway. Allura stopped in the middle of the hallway as she waited for the very person she was there to see. Carefully shrugging her guitar off, and placing it against the wall, she gave a young boy of about 8 a warm smile as he exited the room.
Allura stooped down onto one knee as the child came running to her, throwing his arms in a tight embrace about her neck. Allura gently hugged the child back, a soft smile on her face. He grinned at her as he let go of her neck and asked in a quick, anxious voice, "So, did you bring it?! Did ya? Did ya?!" His eyes were wide with excitement. Allura laughed at his impatience. She motioned with her head over to the guitar. The young boy gave a squeal and ran over to the guitar. Allura chuckled to herself as she slowly stood up, and walked over beside him. She looked down at him, placing her hands on her hips as she said softly, "It's even signed. Your cousin would have loved for you to have it. Which is why I'm going to let you have it now. He gave it to me with the hopes that you'd have it some day. I feel today is that day. Whaddya say? You gonna learn to play it to honor your cousin?" Allura cocked her head to the side as she watched the little boy. He had a thoughtful expression on his small, round face. Then he looked up at her and nodded, the smile on his face was all Allura needed.
She checked her watch, and a deep frown came across her lips. "Well, I oughta be heading off now hun, you enjoy your present, and...." Allura stooped down onto one knee once more, as she leaned in towards the young boy, as he did the same. She whispered teasingly in his ear, "don't let anyone take it from you, kapeesh little man?" Allura grinned at him as she winked and stood up, ruffling his hair. Allura stood there for a moment, an affectionate expression on her face as she thought of the young boys cousin, and how proud he would have been. A deep feeling of saddness welled up in Allura, darkening her happiness. Pictures and memories appeared in her head. She looked away from the boy as she reflected. After a few moments, she shook her head to release herself from her reverie, and nodded to the boy. Turning on her heel, she mustered up her best smile, and most comforting thoughts as she walked out.
