I was sitting here in the airport biding my time waiting for my two hour delayed plane (Which was the first flight in the morning... Normally they're on time at the begining of the day.. Grrrrr But I digress) and thinking about the great 80's videos.. and made these two posts in ljover30 Which incedently is a great group to belong to..
There are a few concerts that go down in musical history—Altamont, Woodstock, Live Aid, the Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds tour—as legendary experiences. What live show stands as legend in your own experience?
For Me the Concert above the rest had to be Jethro Tull's Rock Island Tour.
But I must Add .....
As I replied to a Friends journal entry for this block...
I just find the wording of this writers block incredible... It's like Electric Companys Song "One of these things.." I mean..
Altamont
Woodstock
Live Aid
But then adding to the list Hannah Montana (ANY TOUR)?? Holy Cow, Who ever wrote this question was obviously still reeling from the drugs taken at the Other three TRUELY LEGENDARY Concerts. *lol*
okies, I don't mind the All Star race, it's segments etc..etc..etc.. But the BRICKYARD 400 should be a full out race, not ran in segments due to tire problems... anything this severe isn't about equipment.. it's primarily a SAFETY Issue first and formost.
NASCAR needs to pull their heads out of goodyears ass and either FIX the tires, or move on to better SAFER tires.
Soooooo, as it's been reported on CNN, FOX, and Probably all the News channels.. Our Hydro Electrical Power plant has been cut off from ANYTHING, from an Avalanche 1.5 miles wide... Sooooo Our local THIEVES Ummmm I mean Electric company (Which happens to be a monopoly here) AEL&P (Alaska Light & Power) has switched to Diesle fuel generators for power. and the repairs are expected to cost a couple of billion... And they were kind enough to pass the savings on to us... Last year, our monthly electric bills were $71.00 a month.. in November, they said our reservoirs were low (We got the same amount of rain as we always get, if not more), so they increased our bill to $187.00. NOW........ possibly next month our Electric bill will be an anticipated $357.00 a month, they say it will take 4 months to repair the dammage.
Our Legislators have decided to NYET, a bill to help us out for the screwing we've been getting for the last year. we were supposed to get a bonus $500 to help people out to offset the cost of automobile gas (Although from pics I've seen some places are about .50 more a gallon than us), our Heating oil (WE have electrics.. lucky us!! Yeesh) and now the electricity.. BUT, they Did vote to give themselves a raise... I've made a list who not to vote for, next election.
But on to the pics of the Avalanche, a friends brother.
Holy Cow!! Nothing like picking an Obscure Year to pinpoint.. I had to go back and see what was playing back then.. *lol* There were/are tons on the chart I Love....
