Two weeks ago, we reduced our proposal request from 333 HBD/day to 250 HBD/day, after reducing our operational footprint.

Since then, we have continued reviewing our infrastructure, operational expenses, administrative costs and development processes to identify additional efficiencies. By reorganizing our server infrastructure and consolidating services onto more flexible platforms, we have identified additional cost savings while maintaining service quality.
Following further infrastructure optimization and administrative cost reductions, we have determined that we can sustainably reduce the proposal request once again.
As a result, we are lowering the request from 250 HBD/day to 200 HBD/day.
This means the proposal now requests approximately 40% less funding than originally proposed, while continuing to maintain and develop the broad range of services and infrastructure operated by Ecency.
These include:
Ecency Mobile (iOS & Android)
Ecency Web
Hive full node infrastructure
Hive Signer
Hive Keeper
Hive Searcher
Hive Explorer
Image hosting and processing
APIs and backend services
User onboarding and account creation systems
Abuse prevention systems
Customer support
Ongoing maintenance, security updates, and development

How much lower would it be if you stopped asking for development funding and simply went into the "keeping the lights on" mode? I think that's the level all projects should be at asking for DHF funding at this time...
+1 to that. That is the important question to answer.
Sadly this is the mentality every single project should have in mind as we approach the millionth all time low of the year.
We have no money and no liquidity.
That’s a fair question.
Significant portion of what we do is already maintenance and operations: keeping infrastructure running, maintaining compatibility with Hive changes, handling support requests, security updates, abuse prevention, onboarding systems, APIs, image hosting, search services, mobile apps and the web platform.
Pure "keep the lights on" mode could reduce costs further, but it would also mean less active maintenance, slower fixes, reduced support, fewer improvements and eventually a decline in the quality and reliability of the services many users and applications depend on.
Over the past few weeks we have reviewed our infrastructure, operational expenses, and administrative costs multiple times, which is why we reduced the proposal from 333 HBD/day to 250 HBD/day and now again to 200 HBD/day after optimizations.
We will continue looking for efficiencies but we also want to ensure that the services we operate remain reliable, secure and actively maintained.

We have been able to improve server usages by optimizing both codebase and scalability. If demand and userbase grows, we will have to scale up the system, as it stands we prioritized saving on cost while preserving stability. Security patches applied across services as well while we improved server utilization.
