Been feeling tired lately

in #burn3 days ago

Not sure if burn out or what, the switch was when my PC shut down due to electricity going off and when I put it back on just the thought of opening all the claude instances again and continuing work felt like a big wall.

So I decided not to bother and instead tried to do some gaming, but not even that was enough to keep me active.

Before that I was working on scrobble.life and holozing:wilds, while on the side also checking a few things with Denser which was quite solid since @gtg is a master at things. It felt like a blind man trying to touch code with his hands and asking if this is the way it's meant to be.

(this ai generation failed so didn't upload the template to decentmemes.com - the tail behind the chair is off)

I've been feeling quite weird since a few days, been mostly watching some random movies/tv shows and trying to watch the football games while my irregular sleep's gotten in the way a few times.

I have a standing desk and the airbike hasn't been a favorite of mine so I thought I should try something different. I went and ordered a treadmill mainly for walking/jogging, apparently it can take my weight as well and was relatively cheap (not in terms of hive but in usd). I'm waiting for it to arrive now, the idea is that I push my desk up all the way and the treadmill would be slightly under it but in front of the desk, I'd be walking while doing some claude prompts/other things that don't require ultimate mouse precision.

I've tried just standing a few times but I quickly ended up not bothering to lift my desk up to just stand. Maybe walking and being active will be different.

I'm also thinking about logging and keeping score about how this may change my habits once the treadmill arrives. I'm not really aiming to change my eating habits and hoping that just spending an hour or two walking every day would bring down my net intake.

My github activity kind of shows that I've barely been able to push anything the last week or so:

Is this another burnout? dunno, I've also been feeling a bit under the weather lately and waking up with a stuffed nose and difficulty breathing which has some times resulted in me waking up too early and not being able to fall back asleep which makes for quite a shitty unproductive day.

Oh well, also haven't been posting lately due to that but thought I'd do a quick rant post, maybe I'll update you when the treadmill arrives next or when I finally start doing some work again.

The last things I was working on with scrobble.life was a front-end first algo for consumers as well as looking into ways of how we could reward consumers/curators more using the site. Let's see how that goes here in the near future, as well as Hive Subs.

Sort:

I usually go drift the internet until I fall asleep, or sometimes, like it happened before, I fall asleep with music in my ears... 🤣

Felt many times like at least "something" like you are describing there, and if the rest of the family is not on 111 mode (911 in other places? emergency mode), which brings all my "survive" instinct powers back up eventually and I get back on protection mode, with spare nuclear batteries (until the emergency is gone),... when I am not that that mode (and feeling the burn), I usually crash quite hard... either through dark sides of the internet, chasing things that have no value, or trying to make a point against the most useless thing in the world (defintely not the case right now).

It usually helps me understand my value, gain motivation, reset in a sense by brute force... and then I get back on my feet after a good sleep day.

Exercise always helps, but you (well, I) need the spark on it...

Lately, family is 50% sick (in terms of numbers), just some sort of virus/flu, whatever, which adds quite a downtime for me. I am sort of escaping it because I don't have symptoms, so I think I will be OK, but I feel the body fighting for it. So definitely pays off to eat well in terms of vitamins and stuff that helps build the immune system.

So, productivity and ability to stay "Forky" mode, reduces quite a lot. But I will get back up... things get paused, and then we resume them. Life is like that many many times... explaining that to kids sometimes is a parody, and other times a waterfall of tears (usually behind the scenes, not in front of them, but also happened).

Life! Take it easy...

big uptime guy huh, happens to me also when my computer goes off and had a bunch of things open, but thar github activity cmon, take a week 😅 I usually take a day in between sessions or two, mostly vibe coding stuff for my personal usage, you might also be hittinf your Claude weekly too, thats might me a sign you got to cool down, take until monday and then bounce back ✌️💪

I think you should go out and spend more time with friends or family. Spending some time with them usually recharges me or go for a long walk outside in the sun if the weather is good. Too much screen on time is never a good idea!

I understand you @acidyo, burn out is horrible an many realize it to late. If you ever need help, let me know. That's what I do as a Life Coach 😜 Take care of yourself

Appreciate it, may need to take you up on your offer if things don't improve soon. 😅

Well, I hope you improve soon! If now, I'll be around. You know how to find me. 😊

I'd be walking while doing some claude prompts/other things that don't require ultimate mouse precision.

I can imagine you falling if not paying attention. Be careful. Lol

waking up with a stuffed nose and difficulty breathing

Check if the air is dry, especially if you are using air conditioning, low humidity can make your nasal passages swell. Simple room humidifiers can help and they are pretty cheap.

yeah we have a couple running, could be that the AC is too close to the bed

You need some gaming that requires a lot of concentration and punishes you for little mistakes, your head will be too much concentrate on it to think at claude and burnout

Hi @acidyo, I hope you feel better soon. The good thing is that everything passes, and sooner or later you’ll be back in the fray. Besides, those moments of rest what people call "leisure" time, even though it isn't exactly just leisure are actually the key to being more efficient; with a clear mind, ideas flow much faster afterward.

Wishing you good health! My favorite thing to do is go for a walk in the woods when I need to reset. But reading the comments, it seems you don't have that option. A treadmill is a good idea; I just hope it doesn't sit unused in a corner :D

I have a small walking pad/treadmill in the basement. It needs more use from me for sure. It sits in a nice workout room the wife has setup for her exercising. We have a TV and everything in down there. NOt sure why I don't use it more other than laziness. I do hope you get a lot of use from yours. it will be good for you.

I'm having roughly the same issue here, though not a burnout, but frustrated due to Internet network coverage going on and off.

Claude ! After sending two message my Claude reach limit faster than my prompt.

After finishing my lastest piece I decided to take a few days off posting as well. At first I planned to take even longer break(around a week long) but I started gaming again so I thought that I may as well make a few posts about it while my memory still fresh.

Hope that you will get better soon.

If possible, I would suggest you to go for walking/jogging/running in some park or public place. Spend a minimum of two hours especially in the evening. This will be enough to keep your active all day long. Or if you want to push more, maybe a few minutes morning walk.

The reason I ordered the treadmill is cause where I currently reside there's no easy/convenient places to walk in, at no time during the day reall.

I think you need a good rest, take care of yourself, Relax, breathe and enjoy nature, then come back.

Definitely sounds like a burnout. Get some rest without feeling guilty of not being productive.

Sometimes life just drains us, does not it?

It's time to take a break; it will help you clear your head and organize your thoughts better. Exercise is a good method, but the restlessness of your thoughts is what prevents you from resting The brain, I've had the same experience. Doing an extra activity helps me relax my mind and generate fresh ideas. Best wishes, everything will be alright.
