We also have chosen our first 2 group reads. These are books that we will read together as a group and then discuss.

The book for July is Forever by Pete Hamill with discussion set to take place at the end of July.

The book for August is The Memoirs of Cleopatra: A Novel by Margaret George with discussion set to take place at the end of August.

Please join us in these group reads, or to discuss any books, authors, or anything else relating to the genre! Discussion is never limited to the books being read as a group.

If you would like to introduce yourself, here are some questions that will serve as an introductory:

Do you have a specific time period that is your favorite to read about?

Are you currently reading any historical fiction novels, or recently read one (within the past month or so)?

Any historical fiction novels in your "to be read" pile?

What do you consider "historical fiction"? For example alternate histories, history with a hint of fantasy (think Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon and many other King Arthur tales), classics, or straight fiction written 20 years after the setting in the novel?

Any other interests (authors, books, keywords) to add to the info page to encourage more people to join?
