Beanie was on the radio this afternoon. I made everyone in the office hush so I could listen to him. LOL.

Might be moving job soon. Well, it'll be the same job but in a different office. Means I'll be away from evil boss lady though! Got to wait and see if they pick me as one of the 6 to move

Jacqui has gone for a nap so I might go watch The Indian Runner. She won't appreciate the nakedness of Viggo

Just finished watching Series 1 of The Office. The stuff with David Brent is painful to watch but everyone else is fab. Especially Tim, Dawn and Gareth. I love all the Tim/Gareth bickering and the Tim/Dawn storyline is just painfully adorable

I've just moved series 2 to the top of my rental list

So, I need to print off one of my Buffy fics to take to writerconuk tomorrow and I have no idea which one to use.

Anyone who remembers me from ye olde days of the Buffy fandom want to pick one for me? LOL.

I'm actually kind of looking forward to this now. Mostly for the meeting of new people but I think it will be ok :)

Ros gave me a cutting of one of her plants in an effort to try and get me to overcome my natural killing instinct when it comes to plants.

It's not going well so far.

For about a week I kept forgetting to bring it to work and it sat in my bedroom that whole time getting minimal light.

It's now on my desk at work and I've watered it and put it in a spot that get plenty of sun but it's still looking rather limp.

Any ideas how to revive it? And before anyone asks I have no idea what kind of plant it is. A green one. LOL.

I think it's an excellent letter, addressing the issues in a calm, non-accusatory way, with some suggestions about how they might improve customer relations and I urge you to add your own signature to the post.

I've moved all my Sims around so they're in bigger and nicer houses

Things are ticking over in the Wellingbaum family, apart from the infestation of roaches they got which needed to be exterminated.

Rose has decided to become a rebellious teenager. LOL. She started off wanting to become a criminal but she's now settled for sneaking out at 1am to party with Clark. Hehe

I'm considering getting Tom and Michael to adopt another baby. All they seem to want to do now when they're not eating and sleeping is snog and have sex. All very cute but it's kinda boring. LOL

Plans to see Wall-E didn't exactly work out. We were running late so I didn't drive (I'm still at the stage where I like to go at my own pace) and I couldn't find my purse so Mum-Ra said she'd get the tickets. When we got there Mum-Ra had forgotten her purse too (she thought it was in the car) so we came home again. LOL!

Plan is to go either tomorrow or next Saturday.

I did drive the dogs to the walking area today though so I have been in the car a bit

Oh, I had a fabby time at flickums's. There was cider, barbeque, I got an amazing massage, played on swings in a park and rocked out to Bon Jovi on Guitar Hero

I've been home from writerconuk for a few hours now but I've been busy catching up on LJ, replying to comments and watching Sherlock.

I really should have gone to bed hours ago. I didn't sleep much this weekend as I was up until the wee hours on Friday and Saturday night chatting and drinking with kitty_poker1

The con was amazing but I'll do a full writeup and posting of photos tomorrow.

Coming home was a bit of a whirlwind of highs and lows.

The only luck Jensen seems to be having lately is bad – he's accidentally come out to his family and been disowned (sort of), had his lyrics stolen by his best friend (now ex) who he last saw sipping champagne on an episode of CMT Cribs, and is one late rent payment from being thrown out on his ass because apparently no one wants to buy insurance from a guy with an eyepatch (don't ask).
But things finally start to look up when he meets his hot new neighbor, Jared, and of course that's when Jensen has to go and get himself killed.
Turns out the afterlife? Not all it's cracked up to be. And his death coach is kind of a douche, too.
I absolutely adored this. It actually made me tear up in places. A really sweet story

When Jensen Ackles first met Jared Padalecki, it was most definitely not love at first sight. It wasn’t even like at first sight. In fact, Jensen hated him, and he had a few good reasons as to why. So what if his new co-star was oblivious to his one-sided warfare? Jensen could deal. Apart from when he couldn’t. So when it came down to picking between Padalecki and his peace of mind, the choice seemed clear. Except for the fact that The Network had his balls in a vice, leaving him stuck with Supernatural, stuck with his idiot co-star, and worst of all, stuck with a ‘Play Nice’ Proviso added to his contract. Well, he could play nice. He would play so nice that the world was going to think that he and Jared Padalecki were the bestest friends in the history of best friends. It was unfortunate then that no one had ever told Jensen what happened when an immovable object met an irresistible force; no one had ever thought to mention that there was a thin line between hate and love; and nothing, absolutely nothing, could have possibly prepared him for Playing Nice with Jared Padalecki.
I feel I should warn for sap in this fic. It's ridiculously sappy and schmoopy but I loved it anyway. Sometimes you just need to read a fic like this and I did. It's a really cute idea as well.

I absolutely adore this. It hilarious, sweet and deliberately plays on a lot of the fic cliches out there.

I'm not sure favourite is the right word but Gabriel's death moved me more than any of the others. Ellen and Jo come a very close second. Both of them made me cry.

It's weird but I can't bring myself to get upset when Sam or Dean die because I know they'll be back. I actually find watching Sam and Dean fighting with each other more upsetting than when they die.

Castiel's death at the end of S5 was so ridiculous that I knew there was no way he wasn't coming back and I figured if Cas was coming back then Bobby was too so neither of those affected me at all.

Contrary to popular belief I do not spend all my time on Twitter talking about Misha. Mostly I use it as almost an IM service to talk to my friends

What I do find perterbing is that when I post about Misha (usually when I'm saying things I'd prefer he didn't see) he seems to log on a few minutes later and tweet.

I have therefore decided he is clearly cyperstalking me ;)

Hehe! In all seriousness I am loving that he's gone all stat geek over his Facebook. I love his brain (and the rest of him too obv)

The thing I love about writerconuk is that it's a perfect blend of socialising and actual learning. Every year I come away having spent the weekend with a bunch of people I consider my friends even though I only see a lot of them once a year, but I also come away feeling energised and educated from a writerly perspective

I just got a £2500 tax rebate and now I'm considering Chicon. Not so much for the convention itself but more because I love Chicago and a bunch of my friends are going to it.

I'm quite sure there are better ways to spend the money though so I shall have to ponder some more.

Lost and Found by kellie matthews
Sometimes you find something you weren't looking for, and it turns out it was what you needed all along.
This is easily the best fic I've read in this fandom so far. It's long, character driven and the voices are just about perfect.

I've only been awake for 3 hours and I could quite easily go back to bed. I think the hot and sticky weather isn't helping.

Going back to bed will only mess up my sleep pattern, and I have things I want to get done today, so I shall press on.

Things I want to get done today:

• Draft up tomorrow's fic rec post
• Finish Detective L
• Read some fic

I didn't end up watching any Detective L yesterday because I found out there was another early Avs game so I watched that instead (they lost in overtime but it was a very exciting game). I don't know why but I like finishing shows on a Sunday. Then I can start a new week with a new show. Since they're only 30 minute episodes I should be able to get done in a couple of hours.

I've outlined the fic I want to write next and it's going to be an Untamed one. The prompt just fits the characters perfectly. I'm not going to do what I did last weekend and try and write the whole thing in a day. I don't actually know how long it's going to be so if I can just get a couple of thousand words down today I will call that a win.
