Part of that world
Who: Ariel (Air) |
tradedvoice, OPEN
Format: Prose
When: - 1st of May, night
Where: - The beach
Summary: - Ariel has been adjusting well enough, but still finds herself drawn to the beach, sitting and watching the waves with her feet submerged. Thinking back on her deal with Ursula, how her family must be reacting and if she would ever find the man she had saved.
Rating: - G-PG at most?
Ariel hugged her knees, looking out at the setting sun as she sat at the beach, letting the tide and waves swell at her feet and ankles. That had been her home, the ocean. She missed her family, her father and sisters. Wondered if she would ever see them again. There was a good chance she wouldn't, at this rate. She still had no idea if or when the man she had saved from drowning would show up here or if she would find him by traveling. If she managed to save up enough for the train. Ariel was frustrated with the lack of progress to that end, but knew there was little that could be done about it. She just hoped she could find him in time and get him to kiss her. Otherwise....well, Ariel would be a mermaid again and belong to Ursula. She was sure there had been a time limit, but she couldn't recall the details. Hopefully there would be enough time.
Maybe after it was over she could send Daddy an explanation. He deserved that much at least, whatever happened. She did feel bad for her choice but stood by it nonetheless. This was an amazing experience, living among humans and these 'spirits' like this. The only thing that would make this better was finding him. And she had to. It was only a matter of time, either waiting or going off to try and find him herself if she had to.

She was so busy thinking about her sore feet and how nice the water felt on them that she at first didn't notice the other young girl sitting out there on the beach.
"Oh!" She quickly slipped her shoe back on and walked out to join the other girl, "I didn't know anyone else was out here."
How beautiful the sea was. One could almost stand out here and watch it for hours.
"It is really pretty. I think it is nice to be able to visit a place like this after work, don't you?"

For the most part she had gotten by with gestures and facial expressions in face to face encounters, and using the text function with the ring. She supposed she could write on the sand if she needed to if the girl wanted to talk more. It was frustrating not being able to talk or sing. She hoped she would save enough to buy her voice back from Yubaba soon.

"Do you mind if I join you for a while? I think sitting on the beach for a while and resting my feet would be wonderful. I have been dancing so much lately, I guess I'm just not used to it yet."

Dancing though. That was something she could at least try, perhaps talk to Yubaba about it, maybe even try sing once she got her voice back. It would be lovely, to be able to sing for a living. It was worth a try, after she paid Yubaba back for her voice at least.

"My name is Emi. I just arrived here a few days ago."
Maron smiled as the other girl tried to straighten her hair. It was so long and such a bright red color!
"What is your name?"
no subject
Hi, Emi. I'm Air. It's nice to meet you.

"You can't talk? Is it because you have a cold?" It wasn't too windy or chilly outside but... "If you have a cold I should take you back inside until you feel better."
At least with the sand writing she was able to learn the girl's name.
"Air is a cute name. I'm really glad to meet you too."
no subject
It's not a cold, I'm fine. And I'm glad to meet you too.

Maron settled back down into the sand then. If it isn't a cold then there was no reason to be concerned about her being outside too long.
"I'm glad. I could only imagine how well that would go over.
'Yubaba I need a week off I have a cold'... 'Whhhhaaaaattt? You just got here!'"
And Maron totally does that in her best Yubaba impersonation style voice, which actually sounds nothing like her.
"So you just like to watch the waves?"

The ex-mermaid couldn't help but giggle at the attempted Yubaba impression, appreciating the attempt all the same and just imagining that was more or less how asking for any time off would likely go. At the question though, she gives a small nod, hugging her knees a little closer. It was--had been home. Once.
LET'S PUT THE TWO PEOPLE THAT HARDLY TALK IN THE SAME PLACE 8D
On his way back, he found a familiar red-head standing by the beach. How strange. This was no place for a girl to be out alone. He inched closer to her, looking a little worried.
He cleared out his throat to catch the girls attention.
GREAT IDEA. Except the fact she. Can't talk. :lb Yet, anyway.
He looked familiar though, possibly someone she had talked to with the rings maybe. She tilted her head questioningly, trying to figure why he'd come out here to her.
WHAT'S THIS, A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS?! LINK TO THE RESCUE B|
"I'm Link." That was good enough, wasn't it? He took a few cautious steps forward. "Are you okay?"
Sorry your princess must be in another castle. This girl does not even recall she is one.

She sighs as she enjoys the setting sun, and the feeling of the warm sand on her barefoot feet. She might later regret dragging her kimono through the sand. She now realizes why people wear bathing suits to go to the beach. She doesn't dare go into the water, lest she spoil her kimono even more, but she sees Air in the distance and calls to her.
"Air, hi!"

Ariel did love the ocean, even if she had yearned to live on the land as long as she could remember. It had been home, and her family still lived under the sea, after all. There would always be a part of her that would be drawn back to it even if she did manage to find the man she had saved and get him to kiss her in time.

"It really is my first time at the beach. The place where I live has no ocean, right there, but it is close by. Unfortunately I don't have much time to travel, because my mother has me on a strict school and training regime. I don't have much free time or holidays."
