[LOG] Watering Hole
Who: Dante Tony(
red_as_sin and [OPEN]
Format: Starting as prose but can do whatever you want.
When: Evening.
Where: One of the bars.
Summary: Dante's drinking his worries away.
Rating: PG-13? Crazy things happen in bars?
It was a busy night and Dante had a break. He had made his way through the floors to his favorite bar. So far the place was light. Quiet, and the frog-worker bar-tending was far too afraid of him to keep him from giving him what he wanted. The drinks kept coming and Dante kept downing them down with not so much as a change of sway. He made sure to steer clear of all distractions, some of the women sure made their intentions clear but he wasn't wasting his money on nothing but the alcohol that kept pushing at him.
Unfortunately, long since were the days alcohol had much of an effect on him. Why he kept drinking it was only for habit. The pleasant burn in the back of his throat hardly even simmered. It was a miserable feeling not to be able to enjoy something he once considered an essential elixir of life.
"You." He called the frog-worker who with a startled jump hurried over to him. "Another."

"You." He called the frog-worker who with a startled jump hurried over to him. "Another."
This was another long night.

The black haired beauty appeared beside him, dressed in a short black and red kimono. There was a tiny goblet in her hand, with a pinkish looking liquid inside of it.
"Or drinking to forget?" She added as her heard turned to him, and she smiled. "Either way, it's best to do that with company."
no subject
"A little of both to be honest." He responded, turning his attention back to the bar and the drink in his hand. "What are you doing here?"
no subject
She didn't want to go back to her room. She hated the fact that her roommates were all kids.
It also helped that bars were rather homey to her. All that was needed was a bald bar tender.
no subject
"You don't seem like the mothering type." He took a drink. "No offense."
no subject
She knew very well that sh wasn't the sort of person to have kids. Not now atleast. Than again she was 600, if she didn't want kids now, when would she? Still, she felt there was too much she had to do before every even thinking about little rugrats rolling around her.
She eyes his drink for a moment. He really seems to be chugging these back.
"Anyone you drinks like that must have something on their mind."

What could he tell her, that he was nervous about leaving his home unattended? He wasn't just some half-demon anymore, he had a purpose. The balance he was trying to gain between good and evil had a knack of going out of control when he so much as closed his eyes for some sleep. Evil never slept and being here in this bathhouse didn't help. He couldn't tell her that just like he couldn't tell anyone else. Instead, he figured he'd change the subject from him to her. Anything was better than asking him questions.
"You smell familiar." He began, putting his drink down and fingering the rim. "New York, perhaps?" He inhaled. "And rosemary."
no subject
"I lived there before coming to this place."
She found this surprising. She didn't think she smelled like a city. He must have a good sense of smell if he could smell her perfume as well.
no subject
"They say angel's smell like rosemary." He tilted his head to look at her. "Are you an angel?"
no subject
He just asked if she was an angel. Oh, the irony was just breath taking. She set her glass down, nearly choking with laughter.
"An angel? Me?" She thought it was rather obvious, guess she was better at hiding then she thought.
"Good god no." She shoot her head, still chuckling. "They talk way too much, I'd have to shoot myself."
no subject
"If you're not an angel than this is the first time I've been in the presence of an Umbra witch."
And it was back to business. He felt his second guess was a lot closer to home.

She smiled lightly. She was impressed, not many people still believed in those old tales. Then again, considering who she was talking too it was excepted that he knew.
"Good, saves me the time of explaining it." She finished her drink, her fingers lightly skimming the rim of the glass. Her eyes moved over to him again.
"And you, Mister Devil." She crossed her arms as she gave him a look up and down. "Surprised to see you here."
no subject
Out of the many things people in his world had called him, mister devil was one of the most normal. It wasn't insulting, it didn't give off a rank, and that was something he considered.
"Do you know who I am?" He had never met an Umbra witch but being who he was, he had to take a lot of crash-course history lessons in all that lore he had not been aware of. Being Lucifer was a tough job.

Anyway, tonight he hit the bar, and has settled for drinking some cheap sake and smoking a cigarette, though both cost him a bit dearly, considering the low wages of this place. Still, he is one to believe that spending in pleasures is not only acceptable but natural. Ah, that is something he misses about being home...
At one moment, Karasu looks over to where Tony is sitting, wondering why the man looks so absent but not drunk. "A penny for your thoughts... They seem to be quite interesting, with you being so immersed in them..."
no subject
"A lot do back home. What else is there to think about."
no subject
"I don't know, in that case, wouldn't you rather think about how to get out of this place? That might prove more useful."
no subject
What if Dante didn't want to go back home regardless of what responsibilities the guy had? What if all he wanted to do was just sit down, relax, and enjoy a moment without something going wrong? Here, in the place, he didn't have the responsibilities he would normally have back home. He didn't need to fight a war, the matters of this world didn't concern him. But wasn't that selfish?
It brought a very dry laugh out of him, and here he thought he had long-lost all his human traits. Demons did not feel selfishness, they felt duty. Although he respected his work and what he did, he didn't like. In fact, he hated it.
no subject
"I suppose it would be a problem to go back home. I heard there's a train in this place that can take you to other worlds. I don't know if it would be useful to go to the place you come from, but a ride on it would certainly be interesting."
no subject
Because seriously, it definitely sounded like that. He stopped drinking and turned to look at the guy, not breathing lest his head start hurting. His sense of smell was very good and smoke had never settled well with him. It smelled fowl but he never said otherwise. Not at this age.
no subject
Karasu notices that the man doesn't seem comfortable with him smoking. Not that he really cares about that, of course. But as he does enjoy playing with people, he will ask. It's been a long time since he played with a challenging opponent. "Does the smoke bother you, Mr...?"
no subject
He probably should have said yes but Dante understood the pleasures of a simple vice. Just like he used to enjoy drinking, this man enjoyed his cigarette. He could respect that.
"It's fine."
no subject
He looks at him. "After all, there's quite an interesting group of people in this place." Yes, he does mean Tony is one of them.
no subject
"For now I'll make no move. I haven't had my fill of this place."

His answer was very reserved, enough information to give a stranger however still able to give chance for more conversation. He was playing it safe, not so much because he didn't trust people but he firmly believed people shouldn't trust him.

Karasu orders a drink for himself. "We might not want to slack off too much. In case she does turn people into pigs."

But he had been sent on an errand and now he was lost and he just wanted to be outside again. He wandered into the bar and blinked. This wasn't where he was supposed to be.
He saw the man by the bar and approached very very cautiously. "Sir?"
no subject
"Can I help you?" he spoke calmly. This kid was definitely lost.

"You're about seven floors from your destination, I'd go down that hallway, take an elevator. You should find it. Just make sure it's red-door you get the elevator from, that one goes down."

no subject
"Can I ask why you're trying to get out?"

And as a guardian, Dante could go anywhere, he could guess this kid wasn't going to work.
